Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared victory after the first exit polls released following Tuesday's elections showed the Likud ahead of, or tied with, the Zionist Union.
Netanyahu wrote on his Facebook page: "Against all odds, a great victory for the Likud, for the nationalist camp led by the Likud, and for the people of Israel."
The numbers for Netanyahu's Likud were better than expected after pre-election polls had showed him trailing Isaac Herzog's Zionist Union by as much as five mandates.
The Zionist Union rejected conjecture that the results of the exit polls show that Netanyahu will form the next coalition.
"The Likud continues to err. The right-wing bloc has gotten smaller. Everything is open until the final results are in and we will know which parties passed the electoral threshold and what kind of government we can form. All of the spin and the commentary is too early. We have formed a negotiating team with the goal of putting together a coalition led by Herzog."

PA to resume ICC suit with Netanyahu victory
Palestinian Authority official Saeb Erekat threatens to renew Palestinian efforts to sue Israel in the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
It is clear that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will form the next government, so we say clearly that we will go to the International Criminal Court in the Hague and we will speed up, pursue and intensify all diplomatic efforts, Erekat told AFP.
Jewish Girls with Guns!
Always a thread-enhancer.
I have a bunch of pictures, too, from some website ... Women of the IDF ... :-) ... cool!
Count is in progress but I believe Thursday.
However there are always some late votes by mail to be counted which benefit the right.
So Netanyahu remains the head of state of an American ally. Barack Obama will grant him the honor and due respect that such a position would command. (I know that he won’t, Obama will show the class and dignity that he has shown for the past seven years. In other words, Zero). Obama supports thugs, outlaws, genocidalists, authoritarians, groups opposed to American ideals, anarchists, islamists, and any groups that support western Judeo-Christian, democratic ideals.
I’m pretty sure the poster’s point is that IDF soldiers could decide the outcome in a close race...
Jeez, dude, really?
I suggest you back that assertion up with proof.
Otherwise, your reputation will suffer greatly.

If he is declared the winner, I suspect we’ll be counting the days, or perhaps weeks, until Obama congratulates him.
True....what time will that be our time eastern?

A quick read of Daniel ch 4 will tell you that elections always go Yehova’s way, but not always the way his elect wish were so.

Trust!

Let’s hope Bibi wins.
A victory for Bibi is a victory for the independent State of Israel and as our close friend and ally, a victory for the U.S., and a defeat for Obama whose losses are usually our gain and whose wins are usually our loss.
and can we assume he did it without any dead voters?
and can we assume he did it without any dead voters?
These are treacherous times. I said a little prayer for Israel, God's first love. It would be disasterous - beyond what we've all already experienced - to lose Netanyahu as well. God be praised!
