Voting in Israel's national election has ended, with exit polls showing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a virtual tie with a center-left challenger.
Exit polls conducted by the country's three major TV stations late Tuesday gave mixed results, showing an extremely tight race between Netanyahu's Likud Party and opposition leader Isaac Herzog's Zionist Union.

Why, looks like the Lord heard me. Good news
I have been praying so hard and am so happy now our prayers have been answered.
“Haaretz is the left wing media. If they are calling for a unity government, that is a strong indication that the left lost in the election.”
You may well be right about that.
What I found interesting was the results reported that came three of the TV stations (though I am not familiar with the accuracy of any of those stations). They all were reporting a very tight vote. Hence my surmise about the wheeling/dealing.
{{{wink}}} We serve a good God.
Too late, I've already judged you. You are a person who likes to take a drink now and then.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
I am going to have a drink now. Then I will have a drink THEN. But do not fear, I have reserved one for you if you want to come over.
Do they have a Wilder Effect in Israel?

I’m a recovering alcoholic, almost 34 years since my last drink but I don’t begrudge anyone else having one or as many as they want for that matter.
You go ahead and drink mine or better yet, come to my house, we have booze here, mostly wine and vodka but I am old enough to go to the store and buy anything I want, without even being carded.
I live in (conservative) central Illinois.
34 years. You have my respect. Truly. I drink too much, too often. I too quit for about ten years. Let’s leave it there. Celebrate the good news in a manner appropriate with your lifestyle.
No recount will save the Zionist Union and they wont bother.
Israeli system totally different than US.
Bibi won this one.
Obastard loses!!
And as a result I don't think the government will last as long as his last one did; which was about 2 years.
“but I am old enough to go to the store and buy anything I want, without even being carded.”
My favorite lately is to mix cans of apple and grape concentrate and add and extra couple of cans of water.
You mean against the Jewish guy?
In Israel, the Wilder effect would make the leftist vote smaller than the polls indicated, for similar reasons. People don’t want to make pollsters think they are (shudder) right wing kooks.
Got you, like in 1980, when people snuck to the polls and voted for Reagan. :-)
Some questionable Israeli ballots, fifty or sixty, have already been detected, but Israel is one of few nations in which there is an audit trail - Israel uses paper ballots, unlike the U.S. In the U.S. we have no possibility of an auditable recount because the bits in computer memories are relatively easy to manipulate or eliminate or add to. There are no media in protected boxes that the voter directly touched. In the U.S. votes are communicated by computer communication, stored on invisible computers, long after each voter leaves a precinct, and by employees of the SEIU in each of the individual states. That is why Soros funded the spin-off of Acorn called the Secretary of States Project in 2006.
Israel is still adheres to the principles of representative democracy while there is no possibility of confirming the will of the people in the U.S. We began to eliminate the possibility of an audit trail for votes about fifty years ago. Lost ballot boxes and jimmied machines have been around forever, but computers have made voting irrelevant in the U.S. University engineering schools make sport of hacking into electronic voting “machines”, as if it mattered. It doesn't matter because there is no oversight of the presumed count. Someone in Chicago or Venezuela or logged in to Hillary Clinton's “home” server can decide what count to assign to South Carolina or California or Hawaii or ..., or someone in our NSA or CIA, and no one outside the privilege circle has anyway of checking, confirming, or perceiving the origin of the number.
