Of course it will be “worse”. If I drop an ice cube on the floor and leave it, I have to use a napkin to wipe it up. If I dump the entire bucket and leave it.....

You don’t understand, it’s melting from below, that chart is showing the ice is spreading because it is melting and getting thinner. Just like when you dump ice cream on the kitchen counter, at first it is only “this” big around, but after it melts it is HUGH and SERIES.
