Does he know the scales? Does he have a good tone? Is he familiar with the standard repertoire? Can he read music, or even English? Yes, this is complete nonsense, but don't hurt the poor innocent flute. If it's a Haynes of Powell or other fine instrument, give it to someone who hasn't killed children. Let this criminal play an entry level Bundy or Selmer while he rots in jail.
