FERGUSON, MO (KTVI)- St. Louis County Police have confirmed to FOX 2 that the suspected shooter of two police officers early Thursday morning outside of the Ferguson police department is in custody.
The two officers were shot just after midnight, as many protestors were headed home following a night of protests after the resignation of the city’s police chief.
One of the wounded officers is from Webster Groves Police and was shot in the cheek, just under his right eye. The other wounded officer is with the St. Louis County Police and was hit in the shoulder and the bullet came out the middle of his back. Both men were treated and released.
This is a developing story.
MSM; He was not targeting the police even though one got shot in the face, the other in the arm...
He was simply shooting at someone else...
You’ll be hearing this for weeks to come.
Let’s hope he spends all the rest of his birthdays behind bars.

Be fair. “The news” didn’t say that; the law enforcement spokesman did. He indicated that the perp was making that claim, but the investigation isn’t over.
The news report you heard was only correctly quoting from the press conference.
Where did this 20 year old get a hand gun and was he convicted of felonies and were conditions of his parole violated by being in possession of a firearm? Additional charges should rack up pretty fast.
They're not even charging him with attempted murder, just assault. That will be plead down to disorderly conduct and he'll spend no time in prison once the plea is handled.

He was on probation for receiving stolen property... but was just getting his life together no doubt.
Not sure about Missouri, but in many states, there’s no such crime as “Attempted Murder”. Assault on a peace officer with some form of deadly weapon enhancement would be the usual charge.
I never heard of a news conference regarding a major crime where the arresting agency tells the press what the suspect’s defense is going to be !!

Missouri does indeed have “attempted murder” as a possible charge. I haven’t got a clue as to why they’re only starting with assault in this case.... it will be severely plead downward as usual.
