Its campaign has grown frantic, its activists are moribund. And though it would be wrong to bury the ruling Likud party, its supporters are right to be worried.
The Likud party is losing the election. Thats not the assessment of pollsters or analysts but of Likud itself, which has spent much of the last few days in an increasingly frantic scramble to warn right-wing voters that voting for any other right-wing party could lead to a left-wing government.
We might wake up in a week and find that Tzipi [Livni] and [Isaac] Boujie [Herzog] are prime ministers of Israel, Netanyahu himself warned in a campaign video Wednesday after multiple polls showed Likud dropping to 21 seats while the rival center-left Zionist Union rose to 24 and even 25.
That scenario is a real danger, warned Likud MK Yisrael Katz.
When the right was split in 1992, it brought the Oslo Accords. In 1999, it brought the [Ehud] Barak government, a Likud statement warned ominously, urging supporters of Jewish Home, Shas, Kulanu and other parties to switch to the center-right mainstay in order to avoid a similar calamity.

The moron problem is not unique to Israel.
The supporters of the third parties want Israel to take a tougher line and they see Netanyahu as a sort of RINO.
When the missiles came out of Gaza last summer he used limited force on the terrorists like Johnson and Nixon did with the communists in the Vietnam War.
The article said ... “The Likud party ... has spent much of the last few days in an increasingly frantic scramble to warn right-wing voters that voting for any other right-wing party could lead to a left-wing government.”

That’s exactly what happens to us in the USA, too ... with candidates.
what will be will be...
IMO we are in WW3 already....we have weak traitorous leadership here in America, and now Israel might be throwing out their only hope....
do they really want to be bombed out of existence?....do we?
In Israel, it’s not the “third parties” ... it’s the sixth, seventh or eighth parties ... LOL ...
Isn't that the same reason we suffer with hussein?
“do they really want to be bombed out of existence?....do we? “
Israel will always be protected by God. We will not.
As far as I was concerned, I supported Netanyahu 100% in what he was doing then ... and I still support him 100% now ... :-) ...
I don’t know much about Israeli politics, but it’s obvious that Bibi is a good leader.
The Kenyan man child has sent his fixers over there. Voter fraud is going to be rampant.
Yep ... it’s the ole ... “The best is the enemy of the good!”
We CONTINUALLY shoot ourselves in the foot ... and I see it EVERY DAY on Free Republic, while the Democrats compromise within themselves quite a bit to present a huge “front” against us!
Its a very proportional system, but a little less so than it was originally when Israel was founded.
Did you see Post #3 ... referencing Netanyahu as sort of like our RINOs ... :-) ...
They don’t need any voter fraud. The opposition is swaying the Israeli public!
Ah. Well, as I said, I don’t know much about Israeli politics. Are/Is the other candidate(s) better than Bibi?
Not really. At least I don’t think do. BUT you will get some posters on Free Republic saying that there is a better candidate ... but that’s like us in the USA when we “shoot ourselves in the foot” because those here who insist on the “best candidate” won’t vote for the “average candidate” ... thereby SPLITTING our vote and allowing the Democrats to win. It happens all the time!
CNN International just did a piece about the “grassroots” campaign going on to oust Bibi. They called V15 an international group - not Obamarx’s group headed by Jonathan Bird, which is what it is! Listening to the piece, you’d have thought it was about an election campaign going on HERE instead of Israel. The only thing that made it clear it wasn’t here were the names of candidates. But they kept talking about “change” throughout and said the same tired BS about the economy and other Left talking points.
This is Obamarx influencing another country’s elections by sending his henchmen to that country. They never mentioned that Bird and his crew are there, organizing this mess. Made it sound like this is all the Israelis’ doing.
True, not good news. On the brighter side, urgency is much better than overconfidence in goading “fair weather” Likud voters to get off their duffs and vote.
