Ten years or so ago, I was walking out to the truck to go to work at about 0530. As I got to the door, everything lit up with a greenish light. I turned around and saw the largest fireball I have ever seen traveling eastward about 10* above the horizon.
The fireball extinguished before it hit the ground.
No aliens or anal probes involved. (^;
