Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution

[The President] shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur...

There’s that darn Constitution thingy.
The 47 senators are part of that 2/3 of the Senators.

They are authorized and are not negotiating. They simply reminded Iran that Obama does not have complete authority in this matter.

hmmmm....I read that clause and wonder what they did wrong, by any stretch of the imagination. Those 47 Senators were informing both the administration and Iran that they were practicing their Constitutional obligation to provide Advice and Consent to the President in any treaty negotiations.

The question is why 53 US Senators are willing to give up that Constitutional obligation.

Am I misreading this?
