The Texas judge who has temporarily blocked President Barack Obamas executive amnesty is delaying his final decision so he can investigate how the administration hid the award of three-year amnesties to 100,000 illegal immigrants.
Due to the seriousness of the matters discussed therein, the Court will not rule on any other pending motions until it is clear that these matters, if true, do not impact the pending matters or any rulings previously made by this Court, U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen wrote in a Monday decision.
Hanens decision is generating much opposition from Obama and his allies, partly because he is the only legal obstacle to Obamas November amnesty.
The new courtroom delay for the amnesty follows a March 5 complaint from 26 governors and attorneys general, led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
The Obama Administration appears to have already been issuing expanded work permits, in direct contradiction to what they told a federal judge previously in this litigation, Paxton said in a plea describing his legal request.
The delay postpones the judges final decision on the legality of Obamas November amnesty well past March 19.
That delay also delays the eventual review and decision by appeals court judges.
The state lawsuit is expected to be decided by the Supreme Court in 2016.
That lengthy process gives the GOP base another chance to block amnesty funding during the fall budget debates.
So far, GOP leaders have not said if they will try to block amnesty funding in the fall.
On Feb. 16, Hanen temporarily froze Obamas two-part amnesty, after concluding it likely violated the federal governments rule-making process.

The Judge caught Obama doing something illegal. That is contempt of court an impeachable offense
Seems like Obama checkmated himself.
Nothing Obama does will get him impeached. And he knows this.
This is brilliant. Obama’s attorneys have been pushing this Judge and threatening to appeal his decision if he doesn’t reconsider quickly.
By raising the possibility that the US lied to him about the status of waivers and requesting more info, he has effectively killed any chance of appeal.
Even the Circuit Court would be loathe to take the appeal while the District Court Judge has raised serious questions about intentional misrepresentation by the government.
He can take as long as he wants now. Will be fun to watch the government lawyers squirm.
Thank God for one courageous man.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he has a totally unexpected massive heart attack.....
Please send some Texas Rangers to guard this Judge.
This doesn’t mean that the 0bama regime will discontinue their illegal amnesty activities. It’s just an acknowledgement of them.
Obama operates unlawfully.
I hope you are right.
“This judge Hanen is great”
Right you are.
Among all the judicial federales who make up laws, and turn aside the will of the people concerning homosexual/lesbian “marriage”, etc., Hansen is exceptional. Imagine a federal judge actually following the constitution and letter of the law.
+1
Sadly, I was thinking along the same lines. I hope he is not Breitbarted.
