This is my response to my Great-Nephew Michael on Facebook:
"Michael, one of the proudest things I did during my service in the Navy was standing the Chief of the Day Watch at NNMC, Bethesda, MD. I had the great privilege of raising and lowering our National Colors on those watches. Your Grandfather stood the OOD watch there a few years before my time. As such, he was the Officer in Charge at those Colors Ceremonies. You follow in a great tradition. God Bless and keep you, and God Bless the United States of America!"
