For Democrats who depend on his deep pockets, Seattle billionaire Nick Hanauer is a key figure in Washington State politics. He has long financed the far-left’s agenda and Democrat candidates. He is so comfortable with King County Executive Dow Constantine that he demands special treatment via texts. He appears to believe Democrat lawmakers owe him their allegiance—unfortunately, these politicians tend to agree.

But, as we learned during the 2014 mid-term elections, far-left billionaires (like Tom Steyer) don’t always get their way—no matter how much money they pump into Democrat campaigns. According to the Seattle Times’ Danny Westneat, Hanauer isn’t too pleased with lawmakers in Olympia. Specifically, he is quite upset with the impending prospect of Republicans in the state Senate stopping the statewide $12 minimum wage bill, which the state House passed last week.

In fact, Hanauer is so upset he has made an outright threat. He told Westneat that if the Legislature doesn’t pass the $12 minimum wage bill, he would go to the ballot with “a statewide $16-an-hour minimum-wage initiative in 2016.” The initiative, which he calls “$16 in ‘16” is something Hanauer say he is “dead serious” about doing.

It really sucks how these rich, 1 percenter, leftwing ‘RATs just love to spend other people’s money. Not their own. Somebody else’s.

if he wants to pay $16 he is perfectly free to do so

what gives him the idea he has any right to try to force the rest of us to do it,
when... for many small businesses.... it is impossible...

that’s IT! The idea is to drive small business out ... as much as they can....

more dependency on big billionaires and the government (that big billionaires figure they can buy anyway)

or?

Obama, the Supremes and the worthless RINOs have rammed a lot of liberal nonsense down our throats over the last few years. What scares me is .. what’s next? They see they can just edict changes without congress and no one stops them. Socialists always have to “move forward” and push some new program or idea otherwise they have no purpose. The next six years will be an outright onslaught. It will be like Ken Kesey’s bus “Further”. There is no end but only “further” to go.

Illegals will make out like bandits in Sanctuary Seattle if “$16 in ‘16” passes, and white teens and Blacks are dumped by the thousands.

Why only $16? why not $116 an hour? that would wipe out poverty much faster.

"...the power is shifting from Olympia to people like me.”

"People like you" are called billionaire socialist oligarchs, Nick.

why stop at $16 for 2016, Nick?

Let’s just make it $2016 and end all poverty. It’ll work. Trust me.

Maybe a maximum wage law is needed like $2.00 an hour. Then everyone would have jobs and hamburgers would only be like 0.25 cents.

This wouldn’t be the same Nick Hanauer who pays his domestic staff $7.75/hr?

So, will he pay the difference to all the business who will now have to pay more? Hoe you enjoy paying $5.99 for a gallon of milk and $7.99 for a head of lettuce.
