Okay, it's not a "fighter." It's an attack plane. The former is for taking out other planes, maybe also for bombing. An attack plane is primarily for striking ground targets. And I'm pretty sure a scuba tank isn't going to help them. Maybe you should double check the history of the Russkies in Afghanistan and the problems they had with the SU25 precisely because it couldn't climb very high.

IIRC, didn’t they have a number of incidents where SU-25s couldn’t get where they were supposed to go in time because they couldn’t climb enough to clear the mountains?
