All available evidence indicates that MH17 was vectored into some sort of a killing bottle by Ukrainian air traffic controllers, i.e. forced to reroute several hundred miles North and drop four or five thousand feet of altitude, and then shot down with the 30mm gun in the nose of an SU-25, which is why the remains of the nose of the thing appears to be full of 30mm holes.
