My kid loves Keurigs cuz they have lots of cool lights and it’s fun to run a single cup through.
But the inventor is right. Too expensive for a cup of coffee.
Which is why I bought a boring Bunn with the fast heat option, get 10 cups in 3 minutes through good ‘ol drip filter.
High Blood Pressure on the fast track.
Too expensive if you want 6 or 8 cups of coffee.
Cheaper if you only want 1.
But I only want 1 cup.
After working thru a literal dozen coffee makers (including 2 Keurigs), I’ve settled on how to make an excellent cup fast using an AeroPress ($30 device, makes 1 cup, negligible waste) - though I thoroughly sympathize with those using a Keurig and its “insert pod, push button” simplicity & speed.
Best is a vacuum brewer, but that’s a devoted half-hour of work.

Get a Bella Espresso brewer for about 40 bucks. Fill the pot full of water. Fill the ground holder half full of coffee.
The perfect large cup of coffee and one cup at a time in about the same amount of time as a 2 year old Keurig. Easier than Mr Coffee, cheaper than any coffee, no waste, and no plastic going into the environment.
You don’t have to use the K cups if you have the reusable coffee pods and you can use your regular coffee with them
But wait, the Correctness Police have now issued an interim Guidance and Opinion, that drinking coffee is good for you, and that moreover stress is good for you, too.
