FRESNO (KMJ) -- Investigators are now trying to find out who was responsible for a brawl at a Fresno DMV.
The fight saw furniture being thrown around and people running for cover - in the DMV on Olive and Weber.
One of the chairs thrown across the room even shattered a counter top.
It was captured on internal surveillance cameras and on onlooker's cell phones.
Gabrielle Forman told our news partner KMPH Fox 26 News she was only there to change the registration on a car.

Funny:
The customers who are there are usually upset at workers. Usually it's fights between them, not customers, she says.

As I wonder just what kind of people are throwing furniture, let me leave you with this...

Problems with almost all of the DMV’s I've had to have the pleasure to enter, is not with the public( although there are a lot of them who believe in the Hillary philosophy) but the apathetic employees. They have a routine government job that is based on the assembly line method. They are there for their shift and collect a paycheck. Most of the ones I've encountered could care less if the line is 10 deep or 1000 deep. When I have been assisted by a attentive employee, I find myself forgetting the torture of waiting and appreciate the efficiency of the worker who has to put up with the masses

And after chucking the table, somebody’s chair bounced right off her.
She’s got spunk.

OTOH, the last 5 times I’ve been in a DMV (3x in CA, 2x in NV) the service has been quick, accurate, friendly and efficient.
Go figure.

One day during lunch when I was in Jr. High School, a girl who looked a lot like the woman in the video got in to a loud screaming match with her boyfriend, which devolved in to a physical fight.
She proceeded to pick up an entire 6-place lunch table (with attached seats) and throw it at him. The table hit him topside first, and he fell to the floor unconscious with the table lying on top of him.
It was an awesome display, and I doubt I will ever forget it.

Smartest thing the DMVs have done lately is set up electronic kiosks (even in grocery stores here) for the basic transactions (renewals, etc.). Seems to have cut the interminable waits considerably.

I've been churning cars a lot lately, and every time I go to register or renew at the Ada County DMV office, I'm usually in and out in less than 10 minutes. In fact, the automated system is calling my number as the ticket prints out almost every time.
To: JennysCool
Over three decades ago in IL we used to go to our bank and get renewal stickers.

CA DMV offices are like the Star Wars bars scene. Always.
After a recent trip, I asked my wife where all of the normal people go to the DMV.
I figure that normal people only go to the DMV once every three years or so.
The folks that get tickets, lose their licenses, fail tests, lose their insurance, lose their plates, change addresses every 2 ½ weeks and get their cars impounded are in the office quite often.
