The lawsuit brought against the state claims sheriffs are faced with a "crisis of conscience"
A group of sheriffs will file a lawsuit Thursday against Colorado for its legal marijuana law.
The lawsuit says legalizing pot on a state level while its still illegal on a federal one creates a crisis of conscience, USA Today reports.
Colorado is asking every peace officer to violate their oath, Larimer County, Colo., Sheriff Justin Smith, the lead plaintiff in the suit, said. What were being forced to do
makes me ineligible for office. Which constitution are we supposed to uphold?

An individual's productivity belongs to himself and not the government.
Really? Have you thought really hard about that or just mouthing off another
bumper sticker slogan?
Wikipedia is a biased source? Are you literally saying the accurate record of increasing drug usage is biased against your argument? Well that would be *REALITY* i'm afraid.
Drug laws enrich and strengthen the cartels the same way prohibition created the Mob.
And now you are just going to repeat the same incorrect thing you said earlier? Once again, I will point out to you that the BRITISH EAST INDIA COMPANY (Legal drug dealer) got very "enriched" by their sales of dope to China.
Legal drugs *ALSO* enrich drug dealers. Far more so than illegal drugs can.
And it also has the advantage of being true. You push for the legalization of dope, and you are "pro-dope."
If pain medication was available through a doctor, I would be doing a lot less of the above.
The control over "legal" pain killers is obscene.

I have no angst against you, R2nd. We will have to agree to disagree. I think if a person’s Christian faith compels them to HAVE to abandon a state law and arrest someone.. then maybe they should seek another job. No different than if a town was “dry” or had “dry Sundays’ and the local LENF felt it was their Christian duty to arrest someone buying a six pack on the “Lord’s Day” if the law was changed. No different than a Neveda cop arresting everyone at a legal brothel.
With respect to “if your boss asked you to lie on the office reports”... sorry but this is neither here nor there. If I was interviewed and asked, “if we asked you to lie and that will be part of your job”... then I wouldn’t take the job. IMHO... a person’s soul and their actions are on them. I wouldn’t use a shield to enforce/arrest every person I felt was acting in sin. There wouldn’t be enough hours in the day, would there? Every husband/wife cheating, every teen making out, every person drinking to a buzz.. the list is endless.
I think you're wrong. See tagline. But while you think drug usage is productive and increases freedom, I also suspect you think rape and murders could also be easily reduced by simply making these crimes legal. That worked for you so well when the crime of abortion was overturned, huh.
If as you say these things destroy human life, then how can there be freedom to commit them?
Ben Carson just apologized for saying "Homosexuality is a choice." I think the pronouncements of people running for President ought to be taken with a grain of salt. I see Ted Cruz as just pandering to the Libertarian vote because he sees it as politically advantageous with little blow back from those who disagree.

No my friend, it is you people who advocate the mass death caused by drugs who are working for the same forces of evil as were the Nazis. You are the bringers of death and destruction, not me.
You pervert the concept of "freedom" in exactly the manner as the Bible says the deceivers always do.
Stop arguing on behalf of death. Come to the side of life.
"Narcotizing" others is unavoidable if the substances are legal. Just how do you suppose drug usage grew from relatively nothing to whatever it happens to be now? How did "Conflating Freedom" ever get hooked on that stuff?
It's simple. Others made it available to him and induced him to try it. That is why addiction grows if it is not actively held back. People always "narcotize" others.
Users simply can't help themselves.
Fine. Do that first, then we'll talk about legalizing a debilitating drug that makes parasites out of many of it's users.
If pain medication was available through a doctor, I would be doing a lot less of the above.
I have no issue with legitimate medical uses of cannabis. But you and I both know they do not constitute the vast bulk of such usage. This issue is about recreational use, not necessity.
There's no legal precedent for defining a protected class based on substance use - and anyway most stoners just want to be left alone.
An individual's productivity belongs to himself and not the government.
Really?
Yes - although communists disagree.
I'm on board with that - what about those not accepting an unearned paycheck from the government?
Fine. Do that first
I don't believe in holding one liberty hostage to another.
And I have to wonder how nothingnew’s other bad habits (weight issues too?) and bad personal choices have contributed to his pain.
But hey. Its his personal right to do to himself what he wanted to do. So who am I, except a taxpayer picking up the tab or another slob stuck with higher insurance premiums, to have any input here?
I’ll just keep paying for his choices and shut up, right?

Here are Cruz's serious comments. No pandering there, he royally hosed you =>
I actually think this is great embodiment of what Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis called the laboratories of democracy,' Cruz said. If the citizens of Colorado decide they want to go down that road, thats their prerogative. I dont agree with it, but thats their right."
I'm not hooked on anything and use nothing more mind-altering than coffee - but thanks for the desperate lie that exposes the moral and factual bankruptcy of your cause.
Did they have a similar crisis of concience regarding enforcement of immigration laws? Infringement of the Second Amendment?
But hey. Its his personal right to do to himself what he wanted to do. So who am I, except a taxpayer picking up the tab or another slob stuck with higher insurance premiums [emphasis added]
So we'll mark you down as a supporter of Moochelle's desire to regulate American diets.
Yea, that's just how the Homosexuals started out too, Gov out of their bedroom.
Now look where we are. You probably should have thought that one more clearly.
Yes - although communists disagree.
I asked a reasonable question and you reply with the basic crybaby answer?
You can do better than that. Can you?
