Ted Cruz says the Republican leadership in both the House and Senate had planned all along on losing this illegal immigration fight to Obama and the Democrats, suggesting this fight was nothing more than kabuki theater and that Republicans were never serious about it:
HUFFINGTON POST Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) charged Tuesday that Republican leaders in Congress had planned all along to capitulate in their battle to defund President Barack Obamas immigration actions.
Cruzs remarks came soon after House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) decided to bring up a clean bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security, backing down from the effort to use department funding to strip authority for Obamas executive actions.
Unfortunately, leaderships plan was never to win this fight, Cruz told reporters Tuesday.
Since December, the outcome has been baked in the cake. It was abundantly clear to anyone watching that leadership in both houses intended to capitulate on the fight against amnesty, Cruz said, adding, It was a strategy doomed to failure. Its an old adage in Washington: Never take a hostage youre not prepared to shoot.

To slightly modify a line from John Wayne in Rio Lobo...
“...what you did was an act of War(we expect that from the demonrats)...but selling(out)to the enemy(like Boehner and McConnell), that’s treason, rotten treachery for money...”
As has been stated here, even Netanyahus speech was probably orchestrated to give Boner cover.
I guess I missed that. Do you have a link to that “statement”? Thanks.
“The Dem media and the Communist Dem party watch the greedy K street traitors cut their parties and citizen future / wrists and enjoyed it. “
Of course: the people funding K Street are the same people who fund the media!
Something I don't know and have never heard addressed. If that should happen, then what?
Does the constitution or law require that Congress take the vetoed bill up again, or even try to override it? Or can Congress say that's all you're getting. Approve it or it's all yours to handle with no new funds.
If it's just some new bill, a veto ends it. But if it is a funding bill for part of government to continue operations, why couldn't Congress just say that's it? Congress tells the president he has what was passed and will get nothing else.
Does anyone know if Congress is required to take up a vetoed bill again?
I think your representative is not very representative of conservatives in the fine State of Idaho. Please, primary him next election cycle.
Of course! What were we expecting anyway...geez!
Here’s a big ole clue: people who actually want to kill Obama’s amnesty program would attach their amendments to bills funding HUD, Department of Education, etc., that are entirely unnecessary, but loved by the Democrats. Not to anything the media can pretend would be a crisis if not funded.
Ah, someone who finally gets politics...sorry that you are so rare on this site...
Howabout we just send them a Kotex each for their sore - you know what's...?
Wow Ted, never figured on that...

Who didn’t see this coming?
Thank you Senator Cruz for validating what we all suspected.
Every last one of the republicans who voted for this needs to be removed from office. They are liars and cheats. Their word is crap. I don’t understand how they can be comfortable in their own skin knowing that their grand kids are going to inherit all of the BS that they are voting for!
“Isis will overrun Washington”
Thank for trying to cheer me up
What do you do when you walk into the voting booth and your choices are a GOPe RINO or a RAT?
We didn’t have to even guess. We know the current GOP doesn’t give a damn about The American People...
so where are those GOPers who lectured those who couldn’t stomach voting for ObamaGOP???????
I write in a Constitutional conservative, of course. Last presidential election cycle, I ignored Mitt, and wrote in Palin. I will always like Palin. I saw her on Tax Day in 2011 giving a Tea Party speech at the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison. She became the embodiment of a political heroine for me, braving the wintry slur of elements, and tens of thousands of maniacal union thugs surrounding us, threatening us, and hating us. I would also probably vote in memoriam for Andrew Breitbart, he’s the one who introduced Palin to the crowd that day. That rally really made me realize the importance of acting as a conservative, and not just saying you are a conservative. Almost forgot, I do vote for conservatives in all the other federal, state, and local races, BTW. Thanks for asking.
What makes you think that the Republicans had anywhere near a majority in the Senate to oppose Obama?
It's one thing for us to murmur these things darkly to each other. It's quite another for someone from the inside to open the curtain like Toto, while the old clown is still pulling the levers and bellowing into the microphone, pretending to be the Great and Terrible Oz.
The question is: What does it mean if the majority party is secretly working for the minority party? It's weird.
