House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) announced that the House will vote on a clean Department of Homeland Security funding bill, which marks the conclusion of the Republican attempt to block funding for President Obama’s executive amnesty orders.
Boehner told the Republican conference that the bill will get a vote on Tuesday.
“He said Pelosi could [force a vote] but he hoped it would be done by a GOP appropriator,” a Republican congressman in the meeting tells National Review Online. The GOP lawmaker is referring to a little-known rule, known as Rule 22, that allows any House member to force a vote on a bill if the Senate refuses to create a conference committee.
Senate Democrats filibustered the creation of a conference committee on Monday evening, thwarting the process by which the House and Senate might have ironed out the differences between the DHS appropriations bills passed by the two chambers. The original House bill blocked funding for the implementation of Obama’s 2012 and 2014 executive orders on immigration.
The Senate bill did not block funding for the president’s amnesty.
In Tuesday morning’s conference meeting, House majority leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) reiterated his belief that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) should have used the nuclear option to eliminate the filibuster in response to the Democratic votes to block debate on the House-passed DHS bill.
translation: he calculated HIS JOB (perks) are safe even if he surrenders.
In the private sector he could not be trusted to lead a mop.

They haven’t been bought off. They are part of it. There is no longer a republican party or a democrat party. There is a conservative party, an establishment party and a communist party.
And the communists caucus with the establishment.
And then the dems acquire a 6-million-strong, brand-new core of friendly voters. Game, set, match.
Gotta hand it to the dems, though... they thoroughly spanked the GOP’s asses ... again. They are so much better at fighting that the gelded old party ever will be.

Yes the ruling will be repealed...but to a conservative circuit court.
They will let the ruling stand. There.are NO funds allowed now for Obama’s plan despite the clean bill.

Yes the court ruled before the bill passed. Obama still does not have his funds thank God.
I would crawl over broken glass to vote for a modern-day Truman, if one existed. And it wouldn’t matter to me what party’s tag he attaches to his name.
The problem is, there's so little of an actual opposition party to rebuild. A party whose "leaders" have a race to be first to lick Obama's boots isn't an opposition party at all; rather it's a slightly more moderate version of the party currently in power.
Personally, I have to learn to stop expecting anything substantive out of the GOP. Expectations that are rock-bottom will not be disappointed.

I know rules don't mean anything except to those who twist them to their advantage, but based on the above statement by the GOP lawmaker the rule only applies if the Senate refuses to create a conference committee. From what I understand, the Senate refused to invoke cloture and end debate on the question of appointing a conference committee. There was no vote to refuse to appoint the conference members, just a vote to continue debating the issue. Unless the motion to go to conference was withdrawn by Senate Leadership, it should remain pending until a vote is taken or the Senate term ends.
Bought and paid for every damned one of them. The Republican House has sat for four years and done NOTHING. The Republican/Democrats are unfit to run a brothel as the prostitutes would have far more moral fortitude than these politicians and their army of bureaucrats!
Now the Republicans have the senate which according to their FR Republican loving boot-lickers was paramount, why we can’t live without Republican control of the whole Congress was all I heard on here in 2014. I call you FR Republican Party groupies out for the statist you are. You are no more conservative than McWeasal and Boner, just Party pukes, but hey you got control baby, right!
And what of the average American citizen now? In my near 50 yrs. of life I never thought there would come a day when I would ask, what is the upside to being an American citizen??? We are completely ignored and mocked by the political parties. We are burdened with taxes on everything and I mean everything from income taxes to the phone bill to the garbage bill we pay. We are told we are the blame for everything bad in the country and world. We are told the political and bureaucracy we don’t give a damn about you, your children or grandchildren. You there, you citizen, you will be debt slaves as citizens and taxpayers, you are stuck with more and more debt from our reckless idiocy.
We are held to account by a different set of laws than the politicians and government employees at any level. We are accountable and they never are regardless of their level of incompetence or criminal activity. There is the rule of law for you citizens but we in government and the ruling class can’t be bothered with such an archaic and unprogressive view.
When you force half your countries population to work and service the other half of the population and then take the half slaving away,pillory them constantly with one screwing over after another and then politically isolate them as to have no input in government or how they live their lives, and then hand them the bill for everything it can only end one way for the elitist practicing this oppressive tyranny, and it is the same every time and history bears this out...
Both parties are IMHO CRIMINALLY corrupt. We have to use our home states to take back the power we once had. Nothing else will work, shy a war.
