Jeb Bush Fails CPAC, Can’t Even Stack Straw Poll Successfully

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Republican voters rejected former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the straw poll, as he earned only 8 percent of the vote and came in fifth.

That came as, according to reports and several other campaigns, Bush attempted to rig the straw poll by busing in “supporters” from Washington, D.C., and K Street. So, after subtracting out those his campaign packed into the Gaylord hotel in National Harbor, his support among conservatives is even more smaller than it appears.

Bush faced a round of ridicule from pretty much everyone across the Republican Party, ranging from MSNBC host Joe Scarborough to Sen. Jeff Sessions.

Scarborough told Breitbart News in an interview at CPAC that the GOP nominee in 2016 needs to be a conservative and be able to turn out the conservative base—something that Bush is clearly having issues with. He adds if that doesn’t happen, then the party will lose in the general election.

Sen. Sessions, who at a Breitbart News meet-and-greet rebutted Bush’s support for amnesty right after Bush’s appearance on stage, said that even with all the money Bush is raising he needs to be able to win votes—something Bush showed at CPAC he’s currently unable to do among the Conservative base.

“I’ll tell you one thing: It’s the people of this country that run this country,” Sessions said. “Contributions and supporters are always important in presidential elections and other elections too, but votes trumps money.”

I have no clue what you’re talking about.

Sleep on it and let me know in the morning.

You said at least he is NBC. What is that?

Bottom line, despite the media and Establishment pushing, if Jeb can’t win conservatives, he can’t win the presidency. That makes him unelectable.

And the conclusion can be drawn that the Establishment wants their guy or nobody - they’d rather a democrat than win with a conservative, following their pattern.

His support for amnesty and common core and the fact he is a rino in the mold of losers Dole, McCain, and Romney.

Other than that he’s great!

Is this a joke? Do you actually support jebbush?

As far as electability is concerned, he stands a better chance running as a democrat.

jebbush cannot win the conservative base no matter how much money he has. You may or may not consider jebbush to be a conservative, but the conservative base clearly does not consider him a conservative. Without the conservative base, he is a certain loser in the general.

I know that NBC in this context stands for natural born citizen but it might as well stand for the Leftist news network because it’s the Leftists that desperately want jebbush to stay in the race to suck up the money in the primary and lose in the general against Clinton.

I didn’t vote for him, but he showed it could be done. He could have won if he hadn’t been a nut case.

I will not vote for Jebbish if he’s the nominee.

Get warmed up now for the castigation of conservatives, it worked so well for Romney and McCain.

Nominating a candidate that is anathema to conservtives is what the GOP does. I’m not voting for that anymore.

To be honest I don’t see any strong candidate, including Jeb Bush, BUT he was a very good Governor, except for maybe Scot Walker on their merits. Would have preferred Gingrich

Interesting all candidates very for “We The People” campaigning, but as soon as they set foot on Capitol they reverse it to “We The Concritters”.

Term Limits for ALL to fight the corruption, including SCOTUS!!!

Agree, and NONE of the candidates dare to touch that issue, including SCOTUS after their “visit” on January 14th, 2009. The fifth column media is the Teflon shield!!!

The straw poll at CPAC is always dominated by Libertarians. Just the way it is, look at the number 2 man in the poll for the real leader.
