The Democrats are interested in a government shutdown because they think it means more votes for them.
Since Obama doesn’t want to compromise, there is no reason for the GOP to accede to his illegal edicts.
The Democrats can take the issue of amnesty to the voters if they want. Its their pet issue.

The vote is a humiliating defeat for Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and his leadership team... Anyone naive enough to think that he didn't know what the vote was before convening is too naive for politics.

What is really humiliating is the weakling “moderate” Republicans caving to every power grab by The First Dictator and even funding them! What’s the use of having an opposition party that doesn’t oppose anyone but it’s own conservative members?

If (and he is) obama is breaking the LAW with Amnesty, Men of Principles (Not Party) HAVE to VOTE this DOWN!!! Yes it is That SIMPLE!!!

that a shutdown of the DHS would threaten national security
the bigger threat is to the republic itself.

Give Boehner some credit. He did initially take a stand. The real villain here is that POS turtle McConnell. I don't know what the Hell KY voters were thinking when they re-elected this cretin and that uber-amnesty supporter Hal Rogers.
For once, Boehner did grow some balls.

This is the RINO that represents the General Dynamics facility in Corbin, KY that has the contract work order to manufacture the hologram work IDs for up to 34 million (yes 34 million) ‘New Americans’ and who claims that this card manufacturing cannot be defunded because it’s paid for by ‘fees’.
Hal Rogers, prime candidate for tar and feathers.

Of ALL the articles I've read - dozens upon dozens - not one has even mentioned that the Senate had a DHS funding bill that the dems in the senate won't even vote on.
The house HAS passed a DHS funding bill. It died in the senate where Harry Reid is the Majority Leader.
C'mon McConnell - nuke it and pass it with 51. Why in the HELL do you not do that?
