Winters in Tahoe ain't getting warmer
americanthinker.com ^ | 2/27/2014 | Sierra Rayne

The winter of 2014-2015 may be a very warm one, but it is not part of a significant trend during the past several decades. It is hard to link a single warm winter to climate change when the recent trends are toward cooling.

LOL! Ms. Rayne is correct about the '14-'15 winter. Or lack thereof. My friggin grass is starting to green up already and the aspens are poppin' buds. But, the weather non-forecasters are calling for some snow here in town overnight and tomorrow. I ain't holdin' my breath. And, looks like to me none of the Tahoe ski areas are having a slam bang season.

I believe that I heard that Maryland will share that distinction as well.

We didn’t have a 2012-2013 winter but we have more than made up for it in the midwest between 2013 through 2015.

-13 this morning.

I’m waiting for Tahoe to spill over and flood the Truckee Meadows. Oh, wait. It’s purty durn low right now. Comparatively speaking of course. Haven’t checked the flow rates on the Truckee lately but it’s gotta be real slow. And with the lack of snow pack it’ll be a trickle this summer if we don’t get a significant storm.

Yep, Sierra Rayne, no Sierra snow.
Come to think of it, no Sierra rain
to speak of, either. Weather guessers
say that will change over the weekend.

If there’s a trend toward cooling, the warmists will find an excuse to adjust the date upwards. The ‘data adjustments’ are one of the biggest reasons there is any talk of global warming at all.

Even in the case of written historical records where temperature was carefully recorded, the warmists have changed the data to show a warming trend (historical sea water temperature recorded by ocean going ships being one of the most extreme examples).

Record cold temperatures?
Record breaking snowfall?
Winters that begin early and linger on and on?

That’s all just meaningless anecdotal trivia.

For the real facts on the man-caused global warming that is the greatest threat to the nation just consult the teachings of Barack Obama.

The only difference is the snow. I grew up in Tahoe. Loved it there. I would move back in a heartbeat if it wasn’t California (Nevada side not exactly a good spot to set up a manufacturing company). There were some years I would have to climb out through the second story to get out of the house for school. Yes, it took a lot of snow to get a snow day. There were 3 to 4 year cycles of massive snow falls and then less. The past couple years have been really hard. Nearly no snow. BUT, I’m not running around like Chicken Little. The cycle will come back around and the global warming disciples will be claiming the 20 foot snow storms are proof of global warming.

2007: You see I told you, the warm weather winter proves global warming is true just like our computer models said it would. Someday soon kids are just not going to know what snow is.

2008: The cold January and warm February & March prove global warming is causing seasons to come earlier, just like our computer models said it would

2009: The warm winter in the east proves global warming is true just like our computer models said it would. The very cold winter in west, well that’s just weather and doesn’t count. Na na na na Na Nuh!

2010: The cold winter is weather not climate and doesn’t count Na na na na Na Nuh!

2011: That settles it, the cold winter proves global warming is causing global cooling just like our computer models said it would

2012: You see, I told you, the warm winter proves global warming is true just like our computer models said it would. Someday soon kids are just not going to know what snow is.

2013: The warm January and cold snowy February and the record cold &snowy March & April prove global warming is causing seasons to come later, just like our computer models said it would

2014: That settles it, the cold winter proves global warming is causing global cooling which is causing polar vortexes just like our computer models said it would

2015: The warm winter in the west proves global warming is true just like our computer models said it would. The very cold winter in east, well that’s just weather and doesn’t count. Na na na na Na Nuh!

2016 Whatever happens will prove global warming just like our computer models say it will after we adjust the data in spring

You see, if you weren’t such a denier you would see how smart the Global Warming scientists are

I grew up in Tahoe. Loved it there.

There are quite a few FReepers who have ties to Tahoe!

I grew up there as well...

I did not bother to renew my membership at Heavenly this year because I had a feeling snow fall would be horribly low.

Much as I love snowboarding, it just really ain’t all that fun on shorts runs and man made ice sheets.

The snow will be back next year and I predict it will rival 2002-2003 when I rode til almost June...

It’s been a warmer winter at a high elevation on the CO Rockies, too. 17 below zero this morning, but that was only a downward spike. Lows are usually in the minus-20s and minus-30s in February.
