The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced on Thursday night that hundreds of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s previously “lost” backup tapes have been recovered, which could result in the recovery of a new trove of her emails.
IRS Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Thursday that it took investigators just two weeks to recover 424 backup tapes that were previously said to be unretrievable.
“To date, we have found 32,744 unique emails that were backed up from Lois Lerner’s email box. We are in the process of comparing these emails to what the IRS has already produced to Congress to determine if we did in fact recover any new emails,” Camus said, according to the Washington Times.
In one of the new emails, Lerner apparently wrote, “No one will ever believe that both your hard drive and mine crashed within a week of each other.”

This is NOT incriminating. Trust me, there is NO WAY this trove of Emails would surface WITHOUT them all having been sifted through. Lerner has had MONTHS to quietly go through these files and delete the truly incriminating ones, or even possibly adding bogus ones to fill in the gaps.
It does not matter what the emails say. Nothing will become of it. And the republicans will be in on the coverup.
Yeah, just long enough for him to get out of office and move back to Kenya...

The efforts made to conceal the crime from discovery means the clock oj the statute of limitations will he started later.

If her email about the hard drives crashing was written AFTER the purported crashes, presumably on a computer with a replaced, working hard drive, why did it have to be produced via the old tape backup system? This smells of feesh...
Indeed...so I am not alone in remembering that! It really happened.
More to the point, no one believed that backups did not exist!
If that’s going to happen, we’re going to be the ones who do it. The GOP likes what Lerner did.

Why would anyone else ever know or even care if anyones hard drives crashed, even Lerner and her buddy?
Perhaps because the crashes “destroyed” tons of incriminating documents that could bring down the IRS, the President of the United States and the Democrat Party and put a lot of politicians and high level government officials in prison if the documents and emails ever were made public

Whatever IT operation managed the data, it was smart enough not to perpetuate the deception.
She is still participating in the conspiracy to defraud Congress, so the SOL has not yet begun to clock.
