The federal government can’t wait to control the internet by issuing licenses for web sites, deciding what is necessary for “the common good,” and getting to tax access to the net. If you like your foot-long phone bill, you’ll love “net neutrality.” And the wet-dream of the Left to reinstate their beloved “fairness doctrine,” will be in full sway on the net. Oppressive governments (China, Cuba, Saudi Arabia etc. etc.) can’t stand the free flow of ideas.

Yup. The same FCC that allowed a Civil War telegraph tax to stay on phone bills since...well... the civil war!

No government really wants free speech. Remember John Adams, the founding father, locked people up for speech including Benjamin Franklin’s nephew.

People in power, any power from elected official to a typical workplace, do not like to be questioned or made fun of. There are whole fields of study focused on information management that boils down to “How do we shut that guy up?”
