The school lunches that shame America: Photos reveal just how meager US students' meals are compared

Pictures have been released comparing what Michelle forces American schools to eat and what kids in other countries get to eat…

Since the program’s inception, Michelle Obama’s Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act has offended the sensibilities of the entire nation.

Conservatives found the program to be invasive, thrusting D.C.’s hand into local education matters. Educators found the program wasted enormous amounts of food and money. Parents found the lunches far too light to be considered “meals.”

And school children everywhere took to the Internet with pictures of the gruesome dishes the program sloshed onto their cafeteria trays every day.

Those pictures did massive amounts of damage to Michelle’s pet program, but now an even worse PR disaster rears its head. This week the U.K. Daily Mail ran pictures of what other countries feed their school children. The comparison is stark … and humiliating for the United States.



The “meal” above featuring an orange slice, a puddle of either apple sauce or a pulverized slice of peach or pear, and what looks like lumpy chipped beef without the toast is one of the dishes that complies with Michelle’s totalitarian program.

Compare this insult to parents, palettes and taxpayers alike with what other nations feed their school children. The contrast below is striking to say the least.

Now, wait just a minute . . . the photos of ALL the other countries’ lunches are all on the same kind of plate. That tells me they’re “re-creations,” rather than real photos of actual lunches. So, while I’m no fan of what the poor U.S. kids have to put up with these days, these lunches as shown are not completely and fully accurate, I think.

The US has a federal Department of Education that spreads its tentacles into every almost every school in the land.

Get rid of the D of E and maybe the lunches would improve.

Michelle has done such a great job in bringing up the next generation of constitutional conservatives. She has the Republican party beat when it comes to getting the younger generation to embrace conservative, traditional American values I’ll give her that if nothing else.

And that mystery meat looks like it was scrapped from the bottom of a toxic waste barrel. Unreal that leftists essentially want to force kids who can’t afford a private school to eat that.

The article shows food on several different kinds of trays.

Several of the lunches do appear on the same basic tray but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they simply put the various meals on trays at hand for the photo shoot. They certainly didn't travel to all of those places to take pictures of a lunch tray.....

School kids eat very well in France because the French have decided that they deserve to, at least that’s what I came away with after hearing a radio program about school lunches in France and other European countries several months ago, and they don’t eat off of plastic trays, either.
