Last month I prayed to God before I went to sleep for healing of my receding gums. Then in the middle of the night an Angel visited me and put its hand near my jaw and healed me.

I was an atheist at the time when I prayed to God and asked Him to save my life, and He did.
I do not know of any other way to speak with God other than through prayer.

He's publicizing a news release from the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and would have saved himself trouble if he'd made that clear from the beginning.
"Could be used"? That's what prayer is! It's as natural as breathing. You don't have to recite a certain phrase, be in a certain place or face in a certain direction. You just talk to Him, because wherever you are--I AM--He's there.
"Father, thank You for this day. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for providing for me. And most of all, thank You for forgiving me, in Jesus' Name."
That's it. As I typed, I didn't hear a voice answer, but I absolutely felt His love fill my heart. That's communication with God.

I thought that’s what prayer is - communicating with God. Telling him your inner thoughts, worries, concerns, hopes, and trying to discern his response.
