So, why would a wall still be standing. Wouldn’t that be mentioned?

A field of weeds, and a 40 foot tall wall standing about 100 feet long or so. Yet no one mentions it?

The Jewish historian Josephus mentions the remaining Roman Fortress among the ruins in The Wars Of The Jews Or The History Of The Destruction Of Jerusalem, Book VII, Chapter 8, Section 7
http://www.sacred-texts.com/jud/josephus/war-7.htm

"Where is this city that was believed to have God himself inhabiting therein? It is now demolished to the very foundations, and hath nothing but that monument of it preserved, I mean the [ROMAN] camp of those that hath destroyed it, which still dwells upon its ruins"
