Two more very cold arctic blasts are going to hit Michigan this week. Conditions may be right late in the week for rapid ice making on the Great Lakes.
This makes me think we could make a run at record ice cover on the Great Lakes by this coming weekend.
As of Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, the total Great Lakes ice cover was 84.4 percent. Record total ice cover on the Great Lakes is 94.7 percent, set in 1979.

I can brand myself as a local! LOL!! I love insider knowledge especially as much as I travel.
Now I have to wait for a chance to use it O So Casually...
But I am trying to get a group together to hopefully use our corporate suite at the stadium (needs finesse, you can’t just ask).
And the Hawk damn near killed me yesterday AM. My cheeks are still thawing out...

But no need to kill your way out of it — the weather will kill you and laugh and jump all over your frozen body.

If you’ve never done a suite at the Stadium you’re in for a treat. Those suites are sweet!
that won’t matter because their ‘man-caused climate change’ rallying cry is now “The Antarctic is melting much faster than we first thought” claiming seas ‘could rise’ 10 feet in “200-1000 years” IF “the melting continues”
Be prepared to hear this point hammered and hammered and hammered for the next 10 years- it won’t matter how cold it gets in this country, or other countries- they now have their new invented global warming crisis (apparently the Antarctic has NEVER melted before I nthe history of the world)

conveniently the newspaper article on the Antarctic this m orning ‘forgot’ to mention that the melting sea ice isn’t due to ‘global warming’ but rather is due to undersea volcanos warming that region of water-
I think if they’re going to break the record, it will have to be this week.
In Texas we have snow on the ground. But the temperature is now turned around, and it will start melting soon, The temperature is supposed to rise for four straight days now.
After that there is another cold front, but it’s not as cold. It think the worst of winter is right now.
