There are two videos of the event where Obama made this display of his forefinger. People who have questioned the article's interpretation of the gesture should take a close look at these videos, and listen to them as well.
It does not take forensic science to recreate the scenario. It's all there in the videos: Just after Obama walked on stage, an off-camera voice coming from behind him cried, “Allahu Akbar.” This is a Muslim expression meaning “God is the greatest,” a cry that Muhammad, the creator of Islam, made frequent use of to incite people to violence and to praise their violent deeds.
Obama’s hand gesture was in response to this cry. It happened quickly. Eight seconds into the video below (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc6XHQHeWnM&feature=youtu.be&t=8s) you can see that he raises his right hand rapidly, and as it reaches the level of his face, a thumbs-up gesture has formed. His hand then disappears behind his head for the briefest moment, and when it reappears, his thumb is folded under his index finger.
It is by then a fully formed and perfectly executed usbu al-shahada -- the finger of shahada, shahada being the fundamental declaration of faith of Muslims: There is but one God and Muhammad is his messenger. This is not finger pointing, or making a point, or getting attention in order to ask a question, or the wagging of a finger.

Watch the video again. When Obama comes on stage, he slightly trips while stepping on stage. I watched the video several times, and I see his hand go up with the thumb up first, then his finger pointing back to whoever made a remark. I think someone was razzing him about tripping. Do you hear anyone clearly say Allahu Akbar? I don’t. Honestly, I would LOVE to say this is valid - I would LOVE to see Obama taken down just like the rest of you - but the interpretation of this video is bullshit.

I searched and found a YouTube Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAiOHzvT2zg, presented as Obama’s closing remarks of his speech “in Cairo”. One of the YT commenters had captured the actual words: Eid-eh Shoma Mobarak - translation: Happy New Year. The clip was actually taken from the end of his speech in Iran, March 2009, in which he wished the people of Iran “Happy New Year” as they celebrated Nowruz (Persian New Year). So the YouTube guy (”smokealotofpotamus”) took the end of the Iran speech clip, and tried to pass it off as Obama’s Cairo speech. I mentioned to Jsanders (FReeper who posted the image) via Freepmail that posting bogus crap like that makes us look like a bunch of looneys. Whatever -— Obama doesn’t need any help looking or acting like a Muslim. HE IS ONE OF THEM.
I haven’t seen one. But that arm doesn’t match the rest of his body, IMO.

Here’s the problem: Obama is such a clueless dingbat, that he bows to foreign kings because he thinks in ingratiates himself to them. He is just the type of guy to think responding to muslims with a muslim sign of faith makes him “more worldly.”
So you just never know with this guy. Is he a muslim, or is a pandering progressive?
Also, check out the facial expression of the guy on the far right, wearing glasses. Hearty approval of something 0 either said or is doing at the time. Check out 0's expression too - ("This is just between us, guys.") Have you ever seen him affect such an expression when he's in the same room with Christians other than the fake Reverend Wright?
He didn’t.
He gave a video speech to people of Iran in 2009.
Aside from that, consider the source. Personally I consider it entirely believable that 0 would flash such a sign, most likely because he believes it.

One can definitely see the thumbs up gesture turn into the finger pointing up gesture.
I’m very hearing impaired, so am not able to tell if someone said “allahu akbar” right before 0 made the gesture.
I can hear some things but my vision stinks. LOL Someone very quietly says “Allahu Akbar”.
Coincidentally, everything Obama does is the same thing muslims have done for 1400 years to destroy civilizations ...
“Who does things like this knowingly ...” Muslim jihadis, as they have since the beginning of Islam - standard war tactics. They do not care about what they provoke - the apologists will cover the obvious with more taqiyya.
On my screen, it appears that the white garment overlaps the shoulder of the balding gent behind Obama, and I can see the outline of Obama’s shoulder inside the contour of the man behind Obama, and it’s not being overlapped.
