The Supreme Court this June could cut off millions of Americans from affordable Obamacare coverage. The response from the nations governors gathering in Washington this week was an assortment of shrugs.
POLITICO interviewed more than a dozen governors, from both parties, this weekend at the National Governors Association winter meeting. Most said theyre in a wait-and-see zone. The Supreme Court will hear arguments next week, the decision is likely in late June and no one can foretell how the court will rule on its second major case that could strike at the heart of the presidents signature health law.
For some Republican governors it was a shrug of indifference. They say the onus falls on President Barack Obama and Congress to figure out what to do if the Supreme Court invalidates Affordable Care Act subsidies in their states. And if Obamacare falls apart, well, they say, good riddance.
For others among them potential 2016 contenders Scott Walker of Wisconsin and John Kasich of Ohio its a shrug of uncertainty. Wisconsins own state health program for certain low-income people relies on the federal exchange, and Walker called for the feds to come up with at least a short-term fix. Kasich says hes working on contingency plans to protect people in his state, but he hasnt said what that would look like, or how hed pay for it.
The Obamacare opponents behind King argue that subsidies are illegal in 34 states using HealthCare.gov instead of running their own insurance exchanges. A ruling against the White House could abruptly halt financial assistance to roughly seven million of the people who signed up through the federal exchange this year.

I’m becoming more optimistic that if the Supreme Court rules the subsidies illegal, that we are about to turn toward a consumer-driven health care system finally. I think this was the socialist’s last shot at nationalizing medicine and it’s about to fail.
Hopefully the GOP candidate will run not just on unwinding Obamacare, or what’s left of it by then, but also on getting everyone access to their personal health insurance policy, one no longer tied to employment.
It appears that politico still has its lips locked to Obola’s hiney.
Bttt
All that money Soros spent to make Obamacare happen to facilitats setting up files on every citizen for the NWO all gone down the drain. He sure wont be happy...
Nothing will EVER be back to normal, in fact, the horribleness of this president and these rotten democrats has just begun.

After judge Robert threw away the best chance to flush this ObamaCare sewage down the drain, i no longer expect this court to go conservative on anything. Of course if judge Ginsburg happens to be napping, i.e. hung over from the white house elderberry wine, all bets are off.
The old system is gone, insurance companies won’t know what to do and chaos will ensue. Some states will rush to set up exchanges. I would look for lots of Pen and Phone work from the Hut
The lefties will start screaming even louder for single payer, which was the goal all along.
> presidents signature health law
Personalize it, make it about Obama. What a bunch of idiots. Whether or not it is any person’s “signature” law is utterly irrelevant. Irrelevant except for those who wish to set the stage for attacking the motives of the plaintiffs... “they hate Obama”, “they’re racist” etc ad naseum.
Our Chief Justice will tweak a word or two to let 0bama have his way.
The liberal grubers on Politico aren’t taking this well.
Failing government programs lead to order, not chaos. This happens when normal economic forces are allowed to work again.
Insurance companies are not the substance of healthcare. Docctors, nurses and patients in the clinics are.
Rush says that the politico is the outlet through which the Washington establishment republicans make their opinions known.
Sure hope you’re right.
Kasich says hes working on contingency plans to protect people in his state
Kasich is the modern-day equivalent of Earl Warren. Hes such a disappointment. Hes simply RAT Lite now!

Yep, and he’s dragging Ohio down with him. He sure as hell is no Scott Walker-—not anywhere close to being a Scott Walker.
SCOTUS will rule the subsidies illegal. The RepubliCRATS in Congress will “temporarily” allow the subsidies. These will be continued to be renewed indefinitely, year after year.
Mark my words.
