The degree may be called a Bachelor of Science but Mechanical Engineering isn’t considered a scientific discipline is it? Sincere question, I don’t know. It certainly isn’t one of the natural sciences like climatology or meteorology.

An engineering degree is not easy to get. And Cornell is a top-notch school for the engineering disciplines. I don't know that engineering is regarded as one of the "hard sciences," but I know for a fact that it is hard.

I can't take anything away from Bill Nye's accomplishment in getting that degree. But "educated" doesn't mean "smart." And a degree in Mech E doesn't mean he knows bugger-all about science in general.

He's a lefty enviro-shill. You can get better science cred from Cracker Jacks or a Magic 8-Ball.
