I protest that there aren’t enough white actors in commercials, and the ones that are there, are either dumb doofuses or breaking into a house.
Maybe they need to learn how to “act” better?
They should pay for making their own movies and have their own Oscar Award ceremonies. Oh wait....that never seems to work out for them in any area because they need too much from whitey to make it work. Oh well!
I was listening to a Liberal nutbar on a documentary last night whining that “it’s not fair!” when white people leave areas that have become slums because of an influx of minority thugs and the schools become so dangerous they’re afraid for their kids. Mark my words, the days aren’t far off when you will be told exactly where you may or may not live according to the “neighborhood quota” of minorities that must be met. That will include your assorted sexual perverts also. Welcome to Obama’s transformed America.
I love it - wealthy Blacks against wealthy White liberals.
Crawl on yo’ White privilege bellies, crackers! Lick dem Black boots. Beg for mercy for yo’ lily white skin, you stinking cowards.
It is indeed a great movie. Get it from your library to avoid the incessant black whining.
With the difference that majority-white institutions are still expected to enact affirmative action, while black institutions can be completely black.
[Julia Roberts Speaks Up for Denzel]
"Absorb"?!
Julia... darling... sweety... the issue is skin color, not skin cream...
Part of the reason why Asians have accrued wealth (which is real power in this country) instead of demanding hand-outs and “me-too” awards.
The other day on C-SPAN they were interviewing Loren Blanchard, president of Xavier University of Louisiana. It's the only historically black college in the US that is also historically Catholic (Jesuit), although now about 30% of their students are Asian (many Vietnamese) or white. Dr. Blanchard came across as very competent and sensible. His university is one of the most successful HBCUs at preparing students for medical or STEM careers, but probably not one person in a million, at least outside of New Orleans, has ever heard of him, whereas anyone who watches any TV knows who Sharpton is.
They still won't be happy because they'll know the award was given due to cowardice, political correctness, trying to look enlightened...and not because the committee thought it was for the best product.
Re any/all ‘professional negroes’, the needle on my Give a Damn Meter doesn’t so much as twitch.
Unfortunately there are enough black people who gladly accept afirmative action participation awards simply because they are black. I find it reprehensible that any black person would accept their positions because they are black. What an insult to someone who achieved success through their own actions and not some bureaucratic dictat.
Thing is, blacks are constantly screeching about racism and I am sure the industry is tired of it. Halle Berry has become known as a completely psychotic drama queen and the rest are kind of retiring out of the industry as they age. There’s just not that much talent, if any lately. As for protesting, it’s just going to make people more weary of the eternal drama that these professional protestors stir up for a living.
Denzel Washington is an amazingly talented actor.
Blacks and their sympathizers should see the Oscars for what they are: irrelevant. Hollywood’s industry is made up of pretenders.
ooh...that might be the reason the protest tonight was called off. That, or, maybe they didnt want to pay the protesters extra for protesting in the rain.
Pretense is the top and bottom of showbiz.
And the filling.
