Establishment Republicans Question Scott Walker’s Handling of Giuliani Comments

While former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani of New York has been criticized for remarks he made at a small dinner event in Manhattan about President Obama and his “love” for America, establishment Republicans also have questioned the reaction of the person being honored at that reception, Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, who is a likely Republican presidential contender in 2016.

Mr. Walker, who sat feet from Mr. Giuliani as he spoke, did not take a position on Mr. Giuliani’s comments, made at the 21 Club Wednesday evening, in which he said he did not think Mr. Obama loved America. Appearing on CNBC the following morning, Mr. Walker would say only, “The mayor can speak for himself.”

On Saturday, he turned the lens onto Mr. Obama.

“You should ask the president what he thinks about America,” he told The Associated Press. He added, “I’ve never asked him so I don’t know.”

After a midterm election cycle in which establishment Republicans, and their broad network of major donors, beat back primary challenges from hard-line conservatives, many are hopeful that they can nominate a candidate who can find broad support and be competitive with Hillary Rodham Clinton, the expected Democratic front-runner.

Dan Senor, a prominent Republican adviser on a range of issues, did not discuss Mr. Walker directly in an email exchange with The New York Times on Friday, but said he saw little value in his party getting bogged down in a discussion about the president’s mindset.

“There is a simple response: ‘I don’t challenge President Obama’s love for America; I challenge his agenda for America.’ Period. And then move off it,” Mr. Senor said. “The last thing we want is to be drawn into a psychoanalytical debate about what is in the president’s heart.”

Oh, God forbid you draw conclusions from his actions!!

Yes, whatever you do, don’t discuss the motivation of Hussein. We have much more important things to do like nominating a fall guy RINO to lose to Hillary and trying to get back to the minority in Congress again so we don’t have to hurt anybody’s feelings.

“...“One of the challenges of running for president is how you handle events where you’re introduced and the news from the introduction overtakes your campaign message of the day,” said Scott Reed, the top political strategist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce...”
****************************************************************************************************
When it comes to Scott Walker and Ted Cruz, we can expect never ending “concern” from the likes of the Chamber of Commerce and other RINO Amnesty advocates. So I guess we just need to consider the source.

Of course, I guess we have our own “concern trolls” here also.

Liberals know Giuliani hit close to home, so they are trying to deflect by using it to destroy the stronger GOP candidates.

Walker is brilliant for not getting dragged into this liberal game and has turned the tables on the liberal establishment that fears him greatly.

Only the politically STUPID think we should be spouting off about Obama’s beliefs, thinking or internal processes.

Let non-candidates, like Giuliani, do the dirty work while our candidates focus on the issues.

After all, that is what is important.

If you decide to NOT respond to the stupid questioning and tricks to trip you up, like Hitlary said, “What difference does it make?” Walker will not play their stupid game of “gottcha” and it is pissing the media off, hence the attacks.

I’m beginning to think of the game “Knock Out” when it comes to the media. And by the way, not hearing much about Knock Out victims these days. Must be too cold for the Street Rats to come up out of the sewer.

In prior years a person was responsible for their own words or actions.

Now the New York Times and supposedly RINO Republicans are trying to make Gov. Walker responsible for the words or actions of others.

Or is this whole Guiliani thing an orchestrated and concocted plot by the Jeb Bush Team to make Walker look bad?

Wasn’t Dan Senor our chief mouthpiece and spin doctor in Iraq and a Romney advisor? That’s the guy we want advice from?

This is exactly what the Nytimes and the Left excel at, they take some slight against them and blow it up nationally and get the entire pundit class worked into a frenzy until the Republican is marginalized.

They did this with Romney’s 47% remark and their trying to do it again here. Tell me this, when is the last time the Nytimes similarly got worked up about something any Democrat politician said in the last hundred years?

Think of all the outrageous things Obama has said and done. Think of all the outrageous thing the Clintons have said and done.

Yeah. Get lost, Nytimes and WaPo, and all you other homosexual run protectors of the Left.

Absolutely. Neither Scott Walker nor Ted Cruz are fools. They are not like the foolish Todd Akin who was EASILY entrapped by the media and thus lost a sure election.

The fact that they are having difficulties springing traps on Walker and Cruz is very frustrating to the media and the GOPe.

Wow — the Communist New York Times created that GOPe response out of whole cloth, finding shadows and emananations from what was said and not said.

Better than my post. You are succinct and correct, this is the corrupt MSM’s version of the knockout game.

The Nytimese are not going to give up on this.. they are getting dangerously close to disputing Muslims and that means they are Islamophobes.

Criticizing Giuliani's comments can now be classified as a hate crime against the Religion of Peace -- back in 2008 a Sunni cleric said that an "American communist" would destroy America. Isn't that what Giuliani is saying? Sunni Cleric: Allah Will Send an 'American Gorbachev' to End the American Empire Soon

Sunni cleric Sheik Muhammad Abu Al-Qat' said, "let me bring good tidings to the Muslims: Allah willing, the American empire will very soon collapse."

You Nytimese are hate mongers and Islamophobes if you dispute what a representative of the Religion of Peace says.. so there!

BTW. Notice a FReeper's

BARRYSTROIKA

post. It's working against us just like it helped bring down the USSR. Though of course the USA is a billion times stronger economically.

This is the NYT putting out the GOPe response to this issue. If it flies well at the Chamber of Commerce, the big money guys and Wall street then expect to hear Jebbie spouting this crap.

Dan Senor, a prominent Republican adviser on a range of issues

Dan Senor, grew up in Toronto and graduated from High School there, degrees from University of Western Ontario and also attended Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Father employed by Israel Bonds, mother born and grew up in Slovakia (Wikipedia).

Therefore, an expert on whether or not "Obama" loves America.

We have come to the point in America where the truth may not be uttered for fear of losing votes.

The truth may not now be uttered for fear of being branded a bigot or a racist.

The truth may not now be uttered for fear of being attacked from all sides for voicing an opinion.

The truth may not now be uttered for fear of losing one’s business or job.

It’s just a very short step from where we are to the point where the truth may not be uttered for fear of losing one’s freedom, home, business, family or....one’s head.

But history always repeats because too many forget it or never know it.
