Turkey considers the tomb itself to be sacred Turkish territory. If the have blown up the tomb to keep ISIS from doing it, that is a BIG DEAL.
The mess in Syria constitutes the greatest threat to world peace since the Cuban missile crisis... IMO.
It would be of little concern if we did not have a petulant child as CIC...but we do, and Russia is not kidding around about either Crimea or Syria.
The sick old man of Europe rescuing a dead old man. Too bad it doesn’t rescue a few live ones from a demon zombie of a religion.
The irony of men and armor moving through Kobane to rescue a dead man was not lost on the local Kurds.
Great...NATO is going to go to war for frikkin’ Turkey.
Suleyman Shah Tomb
So since Russia has supported the Assad regime in Turkey and less than 100 years ago was at war with them - could this lead to Russia opening an additional front /expansion by expanding into the Turkish border as a reprisal? How many feel that may be a possibility? Possibly redoing the Georgia thing nearby as well?
As for the topic in general, according to one of the freepers on this thread..:

...the tomb is sovereign Turkish territory, which was already manned by Turkish troops. Not exactly an invasion, though it’s a sign of how safe they think Syria is. I think the Putinist brigade is just up in arms because Syria is an ally of Russia.
