I agree. I have shot Glocks and Sigs. Great guns but not good for CC or for the less than expert. I like a safety and a de-cocker.
See what I mean?...” ...would never issue them to rookie FBI agents or rookie cops...” doesn’t instill confidence in a single woman.
I appreciate suggestions for other firearms that might work for me...someone with no experience and lots of fear.
Exactly. End of otay mesa rd just into the mountains.
Not 25 years ago.
For the record, as to krunkygirls fear of guns, I never got over my lack of confidence learning to fly.
It probably sounds odd to you as a glider pilot, but I was learning where thermals and down bursts happened all the time.
I just never got comfy.
Find NRA class in your area. Professional training. Safety first
FAT CHANCE!
More likely, the Fibbie had his booger hook on the bang switch. Hey, they all can't murder little children at Waco. Some Fibbies shoot themselves.
Point taken re: Glock. Love mine but one needs to know where his index finger at all times
Have a GBI agent here in Ga. with 22 years with a Colt Commander .45 with no problems. They made him give it up for a Glock. Six months latter he shot himself in the ass sitting down in his duty car. Maybe there was a reason he didn’t want to carry a Glock.
To each his own. Don't force your choices on my or mine. We are a Glock family.
Funny! I flew hundreds of hours...occasional fear, but never kept.me off a plane.
I mean piloting the plane.
I don't know why anyone would modify a Glock (to be fair, it's also happening to M&P40s and others of that ilk, but there are more Glocks out there) to make the pull lighter/smoother than it already is, but there's one hell of a large market for such goods/services. When I was looking for a pocketable semiauto nine, I read up on the subject, noted the number of complaints about the long trigger pull of one model in particular and proceeded to rent one just to make sure it wasn't internet BS. The pull was indeed long (and deliberate) which was just what I wanted.

“Dont get a Glock if youre not highly proficient and good at attention to detail. If youre ever ready to start shooting, any decent 1911 design is extremely safe and hard to fire by accident.
I have a Glock and a Walther PPQM2, they both are striker fired and have the splt trigger safety. So whatever applies to a Glock by way of “mishandling” would apply to the Walther as well. BTW, in my opinion, the Walther is a way better piece that the Glock.
U r soooo right! That is different. I was in the back...responsible, but not in the cockpit.

Good news for hang glider pilots, we never fly in poor conditions, unlike commercial airliners. Different envelope.
Also, flying hang gliders was never a question for me, I was born with a hang gliding gene - in Michigan of all places. My dreams were filled with powerless flight from birth.
Eventually, after years of training I settled into the Torrey Pines scene as a Torrey Rat. A regular pilot on the cliff diving wing overs for the crowd. Of course, no one but the guys I flew with would remember my name and I’m not even sure about them at this point. Steve Stackable still works there as a trainer (not mine) I think.
...we would all fly over the golf course during the Buick Open trying to get on TV. lol - great memories...
At any rate it is the same sort of fear of mastery.
Most of us have it until we master something.
