Florist, 70, facing 'ruin' rejects state's '30 pieces of silver'

'You chose to attack my faith … to threaten my very means of eating'

A Washington state florist facing “ruin” for her decision not to support same-sex “marriage” through her business has rejected out of hand an offer to settle a state claim of discrimination against her.

As WND reported this week, Benton County Superior Court Judge Alex Ekstrom authorized the state and the homosexual plaintiffs to pursue the business and personal assets of Barronelle Stutzman, including her home, in payment of damages and attorneys’ fees.

The Alliance Defending Freedom confirmed Ekstrom granted a summary judgment in the case against Stutzman, meaning it will not proceed to trial. A trial had been scheduled for March 23. But the ADF said it would be appealed.

Last month, Ekstrom ruled Stutzman was personally was liable for the claims against her, placing her business assets, her home and personal savings at risk.

The judge ordered this week that the state and the homosexual plaintiffs, each of whom filed lawsuits, could collect damages and attorneys’ fees from Stutzman.

Well my plan would be to pretend I lost all of my money. I would not let the government take my money even if I had to burn it

I’m glad I knew America when it was till sane and healthy. This so-called ‘progressivism’ is cancer of a nation and it is metastasizing. Will America survive it? What measures can stop it?

RE:”The constitution is takes precedent over all federal and state laws. There is no special standard for non discrimination laws. I agree that this is a test case but if this stands than America is no longer free”

No longer??

That constitutional precedent was made about 50 years ago with the Civil Rights act, private for profit businesses must serve blacks as they do whites as well as blacks who marry whites.

Its not being reversed.

Yes, gay relations is perversion. But legal gay marriage makes all those precedents apply to these cases

"My solution: make as much of the cake as possible, and then contract the rest of the cake out."

Not so easily done when like Stutzman you're a florist...

The civil rights movement was a marxist ploy to destroy private property, local control of schools, freedom of lchoice etc. While the cause was noble emotions ran wild and the marxists in government took full advantage of it.

The Soviets took advantage of it, as they did with all of the "movements", at least, the ones they weren't outright responsible for. I have strongly suspected that ex-KGB Putin and his buddies were laughing their rear ends off watching all of their hard work come to fruition with things like the pro-homo movement tearing the West apart, right up until the moment that feminist and pro-homo groups started popping up in Moscow. Since then Putin has been desperately trying to keep the disease from infecting his own country, but he will lose, too.

If they were incorporated and this is allowed the whole concept of business law in the US is up for grabs.

Sigh. It's precisely BECAUSE she's incorporated that this is happening to her. These are CORPORATE LAWS. She is being personally attached in addition to her business because she is a corporate officer.

Is right in front of everyone, yet no one gets it.

Don’t you just hate mixed stories... :>)

I assume homosexuals could buy flowers in the shop. The shop didn’t want to do something specifically supportive of the homosexual lifestyle/marriage.

Grow the flowers, cut the flowers, pack the flowers and give a referral for arranging the flowers.

Let’s say the Ebola Nurse had actually had Ebola. Would it have been illegal to prevent her from eating in our hypothetical jointly owned Pizza Parlor? I think I should be allowed to make such a decision. What if we hang up a sign: no shoes, no shirt, no service? Is that discrimination? I think not.

What if the sign says:

If I see the tattoo
You can’t see the menu

What if I call it the “Pizza Club”
And if you want a pizza, then you sign our statement of principles and restrictions and releases of liability and pay a one dollar membership fee.

A florist turns down a contract to furnish flowers for a wedding.

How in hell does that equal “personal injury” to the couple wanting to marry?

What did they suffer, that would justify this idiot judge saying they could take her business, home and personal wealth?

All the couple had to do is go to another florist.

Ingersoll is on the left...Freed on the right...who are suing her, along with the state going against her...I don't think she's going to back down though they've tried to get her to settle...I hope she stands for the long haul...

This is the dear lady they are suing because she gave them a referral to another florist. Rather than go against her beliefs to provide flowers for their wedding...as if they didn't have other options......I think gays will now look for Christian businesses so they can sue...and then ask for a settlement rather than go to trial etc...they are scavengers!

These fags are even more disowned than they were before, while she is owned by God.

This is the spiral of the wrath of the fags.

The war is with the master over these two degenerate minds. Make no mistake, evil directs the minds of these two and the judge who is serving them. That evil being wants to degenerate people and society, to spit in God’s face. It will be interesting to see how God will turn this evil assault on this woman as she stands steadfast. Paul explained what is going on with this episode. A judge over the people is enabling something that God has identified as an abomination. The judge and the two moral vermin will not defy God for long. Their fate is indeed an horrible thing to contemplate.
