Their worldview would tell them that they can’t be honest about it because the benighted masses are too stupid to see the superiority of their ideas and the perfection that will happen when really smart people are given enough power to make them happen.
I’m sure that’s right. But I would remind them it’s still a matter of weak vs strong.
If you have to lie it’s a sign of weakness.
