This reminds me of the two astronauts in Larry Niven’s “Lucifer’s Hammer.” They were debating global warming versus global cooling, in a book set in the 1970s.
One astronaut says it is cooling. The other says we aren’t, green house gases make it warmer. The first astronaut says it is a horror, the green house gases are delaying the next ice age but we’re running out of oil!
