I think you’re right.
But it needs a state government that wants to do it.
Texas is economically the most capable of being self sustaining I’d guess.
But let me know when they have a governor, sec of state, state house majority leader, state senate majority leader etc advocating leaving the union.

Or even viable candidates for these offices that are advocating it.
Otherwise it’s just bluster.

Agreed, also the point of issuing their own (metal backed) currency would be necessary as well-as that would have to continue the welfare state for a while as many residents now live on this (especially our seasoned citizens).
