Nearly two dozen US House Democrats on Thursday urged the postponement of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's planned speech to Congress, claiming the controversially-timed address could "undermine" nuclear negotiations with Iran, reports AFP.
Republican House Speaker John Boehner invited Netanyahu to address a joint meeting of Congress on March 3 two weeks before his country's elections, and the speech, in which the prime minister will discuss the threat of Iran's nuclear program, has led to an outcry from the left in the US and Israel.
Twenty-three lawmakers wrote Boehner urging him to postpone the invitation, which the Republican leader extended without taking the traditional step of consulting with the White House before inviting a head of state citing fears of "interference."
"As members of Congress who support Israel, we share concern that it appears that you are using a foreign leader as a political tool against the president," wrote the lawmakers led by Maxine Waters, top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee.
They said the timing and Boehner's "lack of coordination with the White House indicate that this is not an ordinary diplomatic visit. Rather this appears to be an attempt to promote new sanctions legislation against Iran that could undermine critical negotiations between the P5+1 and Iran."
The United States plus China, Russia, Britain, France and Germany are facing a March 31 deadline to reach a political deal with Iran, that in its current form would let the Islamic regime keep the ability to make nuclear bombs and in return have economic sanctions removed.

You may have a point. Shouldn’t any deal be subjected to a multi-year environmental study before it’s signed? What the impact on fragile desert ecosystems?
I hope it DOES undermine the ‘Iran deal’
We as a nation and a people are tolerating treasonous secret dealings between our so-called commander & chief and our mortal enemies .
What Iran needs to be considering is : that since they just lost one of their main facilities to an ICBM strike , do they want to lose the rest? Or surrender now ?
Good! In fact, I say we kick Obama out and let Bibi live in the White House. He’s more American than Obama could ever be.
Netanyahu will make his case against Iran to the American people. If Zer0 thinks he can capitulate to the Iranians, the American people will know. Zer0 cannot let the Iranians slip through with nukes and then shift the blame on Netanyahu for his failure to stop them.
“Netanyahu Speech Could ‘Undermine’ Iran Deal”
YEAH, that would be a pretty good outcome.
All they all from the Congressional Black Plantation?
These people are faking dismay. The administration isn’t only talking to Iran and supporting them, the administration is also talking to the Taliban. The 5 terrorists traded for the traitor are rumored to be in on the talks. Rumor, but we know that this administration is going to do whatever it wants and Congress is powerless to stop them because it is not within their power to stop them. The only power to stop what is happening was given to the people in the Declaration, not the Constitution.
Obama is playing hardball with Netanyahu. Just ordered a travel warning to Israel...he's playing economic and information warfare against Israel..
Obama warns against travel to Israel....clearly a political move on his part....this prevents Gov. Officials from travel to and throughout Israel except on permission...sounds like Obama is intent on stopping physical communications....otherwise any phones can be hacked and tracked.
"U.S. government employees are not allowed to conduct official or personal travel there. U.S. government personnel require special security arrangements if traveling inside Israel within seven kilometers of the Gaza demarcation line. With the exception of Jericho and Bethlehem, U.S. government employees are prohibited from personal travel to the West Bank. Due to security concerns, U.S. government employees are prohibited from using public buses throughout Israel and the West Bank, and must obtain advance approval if they wish to travel within 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) of the Lebanon border, or travel on or east of Route 98 in the Golan Heights. I really hope it does
Why are democrats so terrified of Netanyahu? Are they afraid they are going to get caught in a bad deal? Or did they really try to sell us out and fear Israel will expose their plot?
Labour MPs are miffed that Czechoslovakia is not going with the “Peace in our Time” deal with Herr Hitler.
Boo Frickin’ Hoo!
How can Netanyahu's speech jeopardize any deal , since Congress and the American poeple weren't involved, nor advised
of any back-door deal by this : "The MOST TRANSPARENT ADMINISTRATION , ..ever ! "
The “deal” is a treaty in disguise anyway.
“Democrats Complain Netanyahu Speech Could ‘Undermine’ Iran Deal”
Democrats are a-holes. Throwing anything they can at the Republicans to muddy the waters.
GOOD!
um, Iran wants to keep their word? LOL
I suppose the visit from Bibi could queer the Iran deal. Mr. Netenyahu could tell Congress how rotten the deal really is and how dangerous. By some accident, the MSM might publish an honest report and swing puplic opinion against the sdministration. Ya think?
