On Wednesday, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush reiterated that immigration reform is “hugely important” for America even though the country’s middle class, as Bush acknowledged, is getting more squeezed.
“Immigration reform for our country is so hugely important. Race is not a national identifier in this country. We’re 34 flavors. We’re as diverse as diverse can get,” Bush said during a question-and-answer session after his foreign policy address at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. “And that is a huge strength looking over the horizon right now, where multiculturalism kind of creates pockets of despair in Europe in many cases.”
Bush, who has been praised by top GOP 2016 donors for leading on the amnesty issue, said “the United States has this potential of being young and dynamic again” and, “if Europe embraced that similar kind of approach, I think that they could see some economic growth as well.”
But his response to an audience member’s question on the “permanency of poverty” displayed that his support for massive comprehensive amnesty legislation may make it tougher for Americans to move up the economic ladder.
Bush addressed the “stickiness of poverty” and the dramatic increases in innovation and “exponential increases in automation” that are making many more jobs obsolete. Senators like Alabama’s Jeff Sessions (R-AL) have also addressed how automation increasingly threatens American workers. Bush said the increase in automation “is a huge challenge” for policymakers, especially since America’s policies “have worked to provide material benefits to people in poverty,” but “they haven’t worked to lift them out” of poverty and allow Americans in poverty to have “the capacity to achieve earned success.”

Well, my hubby lost his job 2 weeks ago at 68 years old. Yeah, Jeb, we are officially squeezed. Really irked me as I watched illegals parading out of Wally World with multiple cartloads of food and stuff. I was there to pick up my last prescription on my used to be insurance plan.
I read somewhere today that Apple is trying to clean up it’s slave labor. They could bring the jobs here to the USA and let children work in the factories. Not American children but you know Mexican so it would be ok.

Your son had better figure out that he’ll probably never get a job. My 34 yo son has been laid off several times because of recurring medical problems that are now resolved. He can’t even get a job working fast food because they’d rather have illegals working there; cheaper.
Lots of guys his age are in the same boat; even those who have technical training, experience and degrees are falling off the map because H1Bs take their places and they have to train the Apu who is replacing them.

You’re probably right. In 2012 I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for Romney. I think I made a protest vote for the Libertarian...or was it the Rastafarian? Oh, wait, didn’t the Rastafarian win that one? LOL!
CBS news did a piece on Jeb tonight. His own team couldn’t have done a better promo piece. And they cited some poll saying he and Huckabee are the front runners. And they listed Jeb’s team, same neocons as W’s and his fathers team, with Baker at al. Better get used to it.
I've tried to explain this to my Republican (RINO) friends. They just keep saying 'he's better than Hillary'. Sad.
There were two Adamses, two Roosevelts, and two Bushes already. Nobody gets three. Was there even a second Lincoln? Enough. Next the Kennedys will want a second one, and then the Clintons, and then they’ll all be pushing for a threefer.
As if it were possible, Jeb seems to get worse every day. Or at least once a week for sure.
