The latest cold snap has almost all of Lake Erie covered by ice.
The Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory says ice has formed across close to 94 percent of the lake. That's the highest percentage out of all of the Great Lakes.
Just two years ago at this time of the year, only about half of the lake had ice cover.
The Northeast Ohio Media Group in Cleveland reports that the lake reached 100 percent ice coverage only three times since records have been kept.
The most recent time was in 1996.
Actually, it was Frank Luntz who coined "climate change" He's a modern day Edward Bernays (father of propaganda)
Although Luntz later tried to distance himself from the Bush administration policy, it was his idea that administration communications reframe "global warming" as "climate change" since "climate change" was thought to sound less severe.[18] Luntz has since said that he is not responsible for what the Bush administration did after that time. Though he now believes humans have contributed to global warming, he maintains that the science was in fact incomplete, and his recommendation sound, at the time he made it.[19]
I was an active ordinary seaman and able bodied seaman on the Great Lakes from 1973-1978 and then switched to the oceans.
I looked at the photo on Wikipedia for Charlevoix and it certainly looks like one of the ports we stopped at.
It's worse than that for the lib global warming fanboys. Not only does the climate change on it's own without human intervention, but the Earth is not static. It shrinks and grows, the crust moves about, the magnetic core spins changing the magnetic poles, the planet wobbles on it's axis, and the planet's movements are affected by solar winds, space debris and gravitational tugs. I bet all that has far more to do with weather than our automobiles. The global warming adherents simply don't take all that into account when panicking about weather.
I’m thinking the global cooling nut jobs of the 70s were closer to the truth than Al Gore.
Yeah, but 18,000 years ago Climate Change wasn’t a registered trademark of the left to rake in the $$$$.
Excellent! Current and bigger, too!
Amazing that from this altitude, one cannot see evidence of mankind... Unless that thin line across Canada is manmade.
Could be a bad sign if the ice does not melt this summer!
I remember those panics in the 1970s about global cooling fears. At least those nuts blamed it on natural phenomena. Most things the nuts believed in were shown to be wrong and way off the mark; same will be shown about “global warming”, being shown to be wrong and a false religion. In the 1970s, “they” said we would run out of oil by 2000 and our industry would die, “they” said the Earth would be covered by ice within a few decades, “they” said we would run out of food by 2000 (remember Soylent Green?), and on and on. Meanwhile “they” are ignoring the real crisis over the Islamic 100-year war on western values, and the loss of personal independence and freedom by evil men within our governments. Maybe “they” will pick up on that in 2050 when it’s too late for many to survive the wars.
It is a nice picture. I keep seeing Lake Ontario’s northern shore as elevation lines on a map. Is there that kind of elevation difference?? Is that even possible?
