Ukrainian forces fought their way out of the embattled town of Debaltseve in the early hours of Wednesday, choosing a risky overnight breakout rather than surrender as they abandoned the town to Russian-backed militants.
President Petro O. Poroshenko said in a televised statement that he had ordered the retreat from Debaltseve, a strategic transportation hub where intense fighting raged in recent days despite a cease-fire agreement signed last week in Minsk, Belarus.
Mr. Poroshenko sought to cast the retreat in a positive light, but the loss of the town was clearly a devastating setback for the army at the hands of the separatists. Still, by avoiding capture, the soldiers who made it out also avoided handing the rebels a powerful bargaining chip.

That is pretty much what the OSCE monitors reported also.

“The SMM encouraged each side to confirm that they were willing and able to cease fire, in line with their earlier agreements. Some participants estimated that about 2,500 civilians remained in Debaltseve. SMM reminded participants of the likelihood of civilian casualties, if they failed to honour the agreement to the ceasefire. The representative of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said the Ukrainian Armed Forces were willing to cease fire. The DPR and LPR were not willing to do so. The SMM noted that this refusal to cease fire was in clear contravention to their earlier agreement to do so and amounted to a restriction of the Missions freedom of movement.”
You’re a cheerleader for Soviet fascism and destruction.
Why do Russians need to destroy countries and people? Is it to feel better about themselves? I can’t really understand your motivation.
Maybe you should pay closer attention to the events leading up to the Minsk II conference in the first place.
The separatist forces turned another Ukrainian offensive into a ‘cauldron’ by letting them advance then attacking their flanks, effectively surrounding the Kiev forces and cutting off their supply lines.
Only when the Ukie offensive stalled out did the feckless Europeans fly to Moscow and plea for another truce.
Everyone who attended Minsk II knew that 6-8 thousand Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries were surrounded by Ukie separatists...that was the reason for the cease fire negotiation in the first place. Yet not one word about them was put into the cease fire agreement...go figure.
-btw waiting for the global media to report anything besides western propaganda in this matter is an exercise in futility.
Kiev/Euromaidan Propaganda:
“Our forces are valiantly strategically redeploying, while the enemy is running after us in panic, surrending their ammo to us, one shot and shell at a time!!!”
Ukrainian borders are Maidan propaganda?
Russians taking over Crimea is Maidan propaganda?
Russia attacking and taking over a country is propaganda?
Seriously, I asked you a simple question, Why do Russians need to destroy countries and people? Is it to feel better about themselves? I cant really understand your motivation.
Don’t run away from questions when you’re being directly challenged about the disinformation you post.
