It's a perfectly reasonable and legal request and requirement to present your license upon request by a LEO.

They are presenting ID, they are showing it, which apparently, is all the state law requires. Not handing it to the officer.

Seems to me that an officer needs to be able to see both sides of a driver’s license, because restrictions (if any) are shown on the reverse of the license.
