I agree. The dress and the shoes were not to pretty.
She could do better. Because I have seen better on her.

The dress was maybe ok but the shoes with that dress were awful. Yes, she could have done better but it had nothing to do with “her age and station”.
As for the dress I thought she looked better in it than Bristol did when she wore it.
