Before a federal judge in Texas ruled President Barack Obamas executive amnesty unconstitutionaland ordered its implementation immediately haltedSenate Judiciary Committee subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest chairman Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) said such a ruling would mean Democrats must stop obstructing the passage of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill.
I think it would have a huge impact, Sessions told the Huffington Post last week about such a ruling. I would think it would be further proof that the president overreached and shouldnt be funded, and it would cause the Democrats to re-evaluate their obstruction.
Other conservatives, like Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), echoed Sessions statement.
I think its a great opportunity for the Senate Democrats to actually allow our bill to move forward, Huelskamp said last week. There should be no concerns to them if the courts are saying this is not going to be implemented.
On Monday night, Judge Andrew S. Hanen of the federal district court in Brownsville, Texas, ruled that Obamas executive amnesty is unconstitutional and issued an injunction immediately halting its implementation.
The court finds that the governments failure to secure the border has exacerbated illegal immigration into this country, Hanen wrote in his opinion. Further, the record supports the finding that this lack of enforcement, combined with the countrys high rate of illegal immigration, significantly drains the states resources.

Yeah it is. Too bad we are reduced to celebrating a judge for merely doing his job.
As I been pointing out on another thread, we are a long way from 1984.
” Fortunately, we have statesmen like Jeb Bush ready to provide the “genuine” intelligent leadership that America needs today ...
Yours truly,
Karl “Tokyo” Rove ... “
Do you remember a few years ago, when a lot of FReepers were heaping praise on Tokyo Rove? I do, and it still angers me to think about it.
The fact that you asked such a ridiculous question reveals that you don't deserve an answer.
He used to go on Hannity who nick-named him the ‘Architect’ , meaning of VICTORY! Hannity loved positive sounding nicknames.
After 2012 losses it was never the same for him, but FNC kept him on, booted Dick Morris though.
Karl says that amnesty will bring the GOP lots of new voters.
From his handling of the DHS funding bill sent over from the House, it seems like Reid is still in charge.
yeah ... Eric Cantor probably saw himself as a “darkhorse” GOPe VP candidate for 2016 ...
indeedy do!
at least three guys to keep an eye on his automobile,,,a few more to watch his house.... etc..
He definitely HAD ambitions. Ha Ha Ha
I think he wanted to be Speaker after Boner.
Reid would never have allowed the bill on the floor. McConnell has. It has forced Democrats to commit to a filibuster, giving their Republican opponents in the next election ammunition to campaign against them. Don’t you get your news from anywhere but the DU?
Never been to Ducks Unlimited.
What filibuster? I haven’t seen anyone standing on the floor speaking continuously. The Democrats never actually have to filibuster because the GOP “leaders” allow them to threaten one but don’t make them actually do it. Fecklessness is not leadership.
” He used to go on Hannity who nick-named him the Architect , meaning of VICTORY! Hannity loved positive sounding nicknames.”
I quit Hannity over 10 years ago, but I tuned in one recently.
Guess who was about to come on his radio show then? Why KARL ROVE, ladies and gentleman!
What a dummy Hannity is.
” Karl says that amnesty will bring the GOP lots of new voters.”
He meant Democrats, of course. What a traitorus POS he is!
The injunction means Obama’s amnesty will not go into force for a long time, I’d guess over year anyway.
So the Dems cannot point to anything to be achieved by their fillibuster- which will put them “at fault” for any shutdown.
And Obama “at fault” if he vetoes.
Despite the media’s best efforts.
Legally, though, it is just a delay. But the issue is not an easy one for the courts so the injunction will not be lifted until the issue is resolved.
now that’s what I’m talkin bout....
Dems will just filibuster and blame Republicans for any shutdown that results. And their drones will just lap it up as the truth.
The Architect ????
Did he explain what the GOP needs to do to win?
On radio you cant see his whiteboard where he adds up the numbers. He adds 25M new Hispanic voters to the GOPs count on his board, only if we nominate Jeb.
” Did he explain what the GOP needs to do to win?”
LOL. No, I turned it right off.
” He adds 25M new Hispanic voters to the GOPs count on his board, only if we nominate Jeb. “
I better never run into Rove on the street. If I do, he will need his jaw wired shut, and I will be up on charges : )
Gee, since you seem to think of yourself as the only person who has a clue why don’t you explain to me exactly what it is I don’t get.
