A federal judge in Texas has ordered a halt, at least temporarily, to President Obamas executive actions on immigration, siding with Texas and 25 other states that filed a lawsuit opposing the initiatives.
In an order filed on Monday, the judge, Andrew S. Hanen of Federal District Court in Brownsville, prohibited the Obama administration from carrying out programs the president announced in November that would offer protection from deportation and work permits to as many as five million undocumented immigrants. The first of those programs was scheduled to start receiving applications on Wednesday.

does anyone really think that the government will “halt” its immigration policies in accordance with this court?
Not a chance.
Amen!
Liberals consider actions such as this to be judicial activism or legislating from the bench. A judge dares to interfere with what Obama wants to do?? Can’t wait to hear the MSNBC and Daily Kos crowd on this case.
The feckless fool is laughing—on a hill laughing.
That is what I was thinking. Actually I came to FreeRepublic to see what kind of enforcement of this court order was planned.
“Judge Hanen, an outspoken critic of the administration on immigration policy, found that the states had satisfied the minimum legal requirements to bring their lawsuit.
“He said the Obama administration had failed to comply with basic administrative procedures for putting such a sweeping program into effect.”
Good question. I don’t think there is an enforcement mechanism
“Good question. I dont think there is an enforcement mechanism”
If specific violations can be found, drag those actually implementing a denied process or procedure ( like handing out documents ) and jail those individuals for being in violation of the judge’s order (it’s contempt of court and you go directly to jail on the judge’s order). Do it over and over, working your way up the food chain. Personally, I’d like to see that bastard Jeh Johnson in the slammer.
It might get that high on the foodchain, probably not higher.
They said in the article that Obama has an appeals judge in the 5th circuit ready to reverse the order.
“They said in the article that Obama has an appeals judge in the 5th circuit ready to reverse the order.”
Here’s what the article really said:
“Some legal scholars said any order by Judge Hanen to halt the presidents actions would be quickly suspended by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans.”
NO mention of Obama having anyone ready to reverse. The “some legal scholars” are probably those bastards that hang out at Harvard! (Like Tribe or Dirtyshitz)
Like this is going to stop Obama from doing anything he wants to do!
Sonofabitch. You really have gone defeatist, haven't you?
no. I am glad somebody is fighting back, but it will take a lot more than this one ruling.
Go curl up and die somewhere, newbie. Fight back, or turn in your unworn Freeper card.
Ah yes.....the pragmatic and 'realistic' Freeper. Giving the devil the benefit of the doubt once again.
You're making me ill tonight, Geron.
Now all he needs to do is throw the Kenyan “child of the earth” in jail and America will be looking good.
