Pallis, why do you call NM “Espanola?” I am curious ...
Like every out random stat used to make a point, the key to all of them is demographics.
Mississippi is often the butt of jokes for the poor education results, and the number on welfare.
What would the stats for NH look like if 50% of their population looked the residents of Harlem?
Oregon has been full on progressive for 20+ years...Dems are sooo proud
Check the demographics.
You know, I just look at those numbers for D.C., and I just keep thinking, if there were only some way we could HELP those people......maybe sending them some MORE money....../sarc
Demographics. It all comes down to demographics.

rough estimate of that list shows about 80 MILLION people on food stamps, I guess that 50 million number on the news might be a LIE!
The Food Stamp President.
Math is not required in Journalism school........................
I was born in MS and that state has more Blacks than any other state. The Delta area is the poorest part of the state and they usually vote for dems.
Espanola is a town in New Mexico.
There needs to be another column added to the chart. Number of “non-documented” per population
I thing that we need to petition the USDA to place Obama’s picture on food stamps!
I’m surprised anyone in MN would even know Espanola exists.
Then again, the old love and heartbreak of my life before I met my wife moved to Minneapolis, so who knows?
My son worked as a cashier at Kroger. They buy a lot of pre-packaged foods that are easy to sell as “loosies”. That’s why they always have cash for cigarettes.
Yeah, and a LOT that I see using the cards are young, able-bodied people. That really steams me.
Here in New Mexico it is common to see someone checking out at the grocery store while using 3 or 4 (or more) EBT cards.
After one ahead of me checked out I asked the checkout girl, what was the deal? Isn’t that fraudulent? Or even theft?
No, she says. It seems that those poor souls who live in the middle of nowhere will send their friends into the big city of Rio Rancho with a grocery list and their EBT cards. One person may be shopping for half a dozen families.
Sure they are.
Perhaps the New Madrid will drop Memphis into the Mississippi; easing the burden on Tennessee taxpayers...
Perhaps in most cases, but can someone explain West Virginia?
LOL!
Drug users give their cards to their dealer for drugs. Then, when the cards are recharged the dealer uses them for twice the value of the drugs and returns them.
Or keeps them for the next month.
Kids are fed by schools and food pantries.
This would be stopped by a signature system of course.
