Senior Democrats seek sign-up extension for people facing health law penalties
The official sign-up season for President Barack Obama's health care law may be over, but leading congressional Democrats say millions of Americans facing new tax penalties deserve a second chance.
Three senior House members told The Associated Press that they plan to strongly urge the administration to grant a special sign-up opportunity for uninsured taxpayers who will be facing fines under the law for the first time this year.
The three are Michigan's Sander Levin, the ranking Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee, and Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott of Washington, and Lloyd Doggett of Texas. All worked to help steer Obama's law through rancorous congressional debates from 2009-2010.

I guess they just found out what was in the bill they didn’t read but rammed through anyway...
There will be at least 20 times more democrats paying the penalty than republicans unless something is changed.
Heh. I didn’t even think about signing up. I won’t have health insurance until this thing is completely repealed. I went without health care insurance for the first time in my life starting on Jan 1st, 2014. I spent $50 for health care last year and saved over $12,000 in primiums that would not have saved me even that fifty bucks.
The Emperor could just waive those penalties, he’s changed the law numerous times before.
Sure hope you are right! I'd wish nothing but anguish and despair for those morons who voted for the RATS who dropped this monstrous turd on the country. the "free $hit crowd" needs a painful lesson that nothing is really "free."

But aren’t you “ashamed” that you didn’t decide to pay for the healthcare for a whole flock of “gibbsmedats?” (s). Just think of all those “vaginas for rent” whose “offspring” didn’t get healthcare that you couldn’t afford.
Yep... the best solution for most of the uninsured dems is to keep going to the emergency room and getting whatever helathcare the government will pay through all of the freebie safety net programs, and pay the penalty each year. Paying monthly for health insurance, carrying the card, dealing with the limited number of providers, tracking benefits etc .... all of the “stuff” that comes with having health insurance? They’re not going to do that.

So what else is new? The Democrats have always suckered the middle class and the poor. Look what they have done to blacks. MLK would weep. If MLK was alive today they would call him an Uncle Tom.
what are these guys up for election?

In a perverse way, I’ve “benefitted” from Obamacare. I had Medicare with an HMO which cost a little over $100 a month. Yeah, I had to put up with co-pays and “referrals,” but I am in good health so it worked. Obamacare forced my HMO to cancel my policy because it didn’t cover all that stuff that’s so important to a senior (you know pregnancy, drug abuse, etc). So I called up AMAC ( the conservative alternative to AARP). The woman that assisted both me and my wife was stellar! Thanks to the O’care cancellation (with Medicare you are not allowed to upgrade your insurance coverage as you age absent a cancellation), I was able to move from an HMO to a Supplement with a major insurance company for less than $100 more per month AMAC provider. In the year that we have had these policies, my wife had had to have open-heart surgery to replace a defective valve and everything was covered. For me, no more copays and I go to see whomever I want (w/o the need for my PCP to get approval, or having to deal with a limited list of doctors that I am able to see). So for us, Obamacare unknowingly allowed us both to get better insurance. Now the only issue is just how long Medicare is going to be solvent.
All that said, I hate Obola and every thing he stand for.
Yeah. I look at it this way:
The founding fathers drew a line. I’m drawing a line. Though I’m fighting in a different way than they did. I’m simply refusing to participate in the fascism. I wish more would do that.
My wife can start Medicare in 3 years. We’ll do the same thing for her insurance that you described. I’m 6 years younger.... I’ll still be dealing with my individual plan etc. We make to much to be covered under any Obamacare rebates etc.
And this is when the excrement hits the rotating air circulator. When this stuff affects enough people PERSONALLY, things happen.
Yep... unfortunately the change will likely be Obammy dictating that people under a certain income level, or certain social situations will be given “absolutely free” health insurance. And the government will manage it for them. Medicare, Part Free. While he raises taxes on top earners, and while Bohener etal fight amongst themselves.

I hope you’re right.... but I gotta tell you.... I’m getting old.... I can’t hold my breath very long these days...
I actually got an obammycare waver. My insurance company sent Mrskjam22 and I a nice letter saying our plan had been granted an obammycare waver! I was excited! I would be able to keep my plan for another 3 years! Then as I read more I found out that even though I could keep my own plan the price per month was going to go up quite a bit. OR.... there’s always an OR... Or, I could raise my annual deductible from 5k per person to 7.5k per person, and have a $30 per month decrease in my cost. We’re healthy and I’m just paying for catastrophic insurance anyway.... so I raised the deductible.
The DemonRats always think that they’re going to be exempt from the crap that they’re supporting as a reward for their loyalty to the Rat party. They’re always completely blindsided to find out that they’re just another drone. One other line that you’re going to hear a lot of: “I thought only the rich were going to have to pay.” Guess what, you’re now “rich”. How does it feel?
