BUCHANAN: Richard Nixon pulled Egypt of the Soviet bloc. It’s not a problem for this reason, in the Middle East, our enemies are al Qaeda and ISIS, so are Russia’s enemies, al Qaeda and ISIS. We are allies in the war against Islamic terrorism, John.

This is why we’ve got difficulties in the Ukraine and other places. We have to manage this relationship because in the larger context, I believe that Russia is by and large a greater force for stability and anti-Islamic radicalism, than it is on the other side (ie, the Ukraine junta).

I agree with Pat, not ansel, who wants to expand the war in the Ukraine and prividing a cover for the advancing Islamists. That would be a lose, lose for us.

I want to prevent you guys from recreating the Cold War and trying to get us into a future WWIII by supporting Russia rebuilding what Reagan defeated.

So Pat wants to throw Ukraine to the wolves in favor of some pipedream scheme to ally ourselves with the Russians against Muslim extremists.
