Karen Hains of Bettendorf has chosen delayed vaccinations for her children.
Hains daughter received her 2-month immunizations on schedule. Right afterward, she said, the baby had bloody, mucusy stools for a week and could hardly nurse, Hains said. The little girl also ran a fever of 102 degrees.
After the 4-months vaccinations, she had (a reaction) again, but a little less severe, Hains said. That was enough for me to realize that was definitely because of the shots. It wasnt until my second child that I decided to do something different.
With her second child, she waited until after 6 months for the first vaccination. Now Hains children are 13, 11, 8 and 5. The youngest is not yet caught up with vaccinations.
My kids were not in day care, Hains said. Children in day care get exposed to a lot more illnesses.
Because they were at home, she said, I had the luxury of delaying without requiring an exemption.
The three oldest attended a licensed preschool and were up to date with their immunizations by the time they each were 4 years old, Hains said.
For my fourth child, I did preschool at home, so we didnt have that deadline, Hains said. She now is homeschooling all four of her children.
Dr. Sears has a delayed-vaccination schedule that some parents choose to follow, Hains said, referring to Dr. Robert W. Sears who wrote The Vaccine Book: Making the Right Decision for Your Child. Sears suggests an alternative schedule that delays the injections or spaces them farther apart.
This right is under ATTACK right now. Even if you are OK with the current CDC recommendations for 50 vaccinations by the time a child is 6, are you OK with the vaccination schedule of the future? They do have over 300 new vaccines in the "pipeline."
I don’t know where you come up with 50 vaccinations ... because we have a four-year old and there’s nowhere near that amount, and he’s got another year and a half. By the time he’s six, it looks like it will be around 20, to me. I would have to check to make sure, but I do have his record thus far, since we have to present it at school.
Hard to find a balanced article on parental rights regarding vaccines these days.
I can’t tell you what my neighbor is doing with their kid, but I can tell you that I have the actual results for our kid and it comes nowhere near this. So, there’s a discrepancy somewhere in this information ... but “my information” is based on “actual results” with our kid.
This kind of delaying is horribly irresponsible and stupid. It isn’t just daycare where children are exposed. If a parent ever takes the child out of the house or allows anyone to visit, that child can be exposed. In some cases, the parent can expose the child. Whooping cough, for example, often causes minimal symptoms but it is serious and potentially deadly to babies whose immune systems are still undeveloped and cannot fight it off.
I seriously question the notion that parents somehow have the expertise to “do their own research” and come up with a vaccination schedule that is somehow more effective than the schedule that panels of experts (physicians and PhD scientists) review regularly and recommend. All they are doing is substituting the best expert opinion possible for the non-expert opinion of someone trying to make easy money—either way, they aren’t “doing their own research.”
I hate to say it, but the expertise resulting from the decades of education and experience represented in an expert panel cannot be replicated by parents who have taken a couple of high school science classes and know how to use Google.
There is a term for people who think that they know as much as the experts in a subject: it’s the Dunning-Kruger effect. That’s what happens when people who have a tiny bit of knowledge about a subject think they know everything. Conversely, when people actually learn a subject in-depth (as through the process of earning a PhD or equivalent), they then realize that no matter how much they learn, there is always more to learn, and they then underestimate the level of their knowledge.
This gentleman hit’s the nail on the head. “History is replete with what people believed being later dispelled. But as Dr. Walter R. Hadwen correctly said in 1896, Majorities are never the proof of truth.
The choice to vaccinate should be the individual not dictated by laws. But those that push for more and more laws and shield vaccine manufactures from any responsibility whatsoever disagree. Since all vaccines are akin to the holy grail of the medical world those that question are considered heretics that must be crucified if not literally certainly figuratively.
Emeritus Professor F. W. Newman stated in 1874 I assert that it is beyond the functions of law to dictate a medical procedure, or enforce any scientific theory. No truer words were spoken. Thats what freedom and self-determination are in an enlightened society. We certainly cant have that.”
I don’t think this Expert should be considered “stupid” DO YOU?
“There are unanswered questions about vaccine safety... No one should be threatened by the pursuit of this knowledge.” “I think public health officials have been too quick to dismiss the hypothesis as irrational without sufficient studies of causation.” - Dr Bernadine Healy, MD (Former Director, National Institute of Health and Former President, American Red Cross)
The veterinary profession would not suffer a dog to get that many vaccinations. They’ve completely revamped their recommendations in light of clear indications that overvaccination is positively harmful.
“the schedule that panels of experts (physicians and PhD scientists) review regularly and recommend.” Yes, I know what these experts recommend-don’t you think it is ludicrous to “recommend” that newborn babies be immunized for HEP B, a blood born, sexually transmitted disease that most babies are not even at risk for?
If that alone doesn’t make you question their recommendations, good for you. Just don’t try to convince me that these Experts have a right to make serious health/medical decisions for my family. I obviously understand the risks we should be concerned about better than they do.
Right, as proven by the ever increasing lifespans of humans.
The increase in autism and other serious vaccine injuries will eventually wake more people up to this “clear indications that overvaccination is positively harmful”.
I am reminded of a Yuri Bezmenov video when he said the “useful idiots won’t understand until the swift boot of government is up their butt.”
This is an issue that is beginning to go across party lines. Even people on the left are beginning to realize that the Government should not be able to control their personal health choices.
Do you think this Expert understands the issue? “There is a great deal of evidence to prove that immunization of children does more harm than good.” “The manufacturers of these vaccines know they are worthless but they go on selling them anyway.” - Dr J Anthony Morris, PhD (Former Chief Vaccine Control Officer and Research Virologist, US FDA)
Regarding Hep B, you are at risk as a baby if your mother has it and gives birth to you. You can’t take the HIV, Hepatitis, or other blood/STD infectees at their word. They do a similar procedure with antibiotics in babies eyes, to make sure that in case a gonorrhea mom lied, the baby won’t have the gonorrhea germs dissolving their eyeballs.
As I mentioned earlier, just because you are OK with the CDC current schedule of immunizations are you OK with what some Government entity decides you should have in the future?
They do have over 300 immunizations in the Pipeline. Some will target adults. See info here http://www.phrma.org/media/releases/nearly-300-vaccines-development-prevention-treatment-disease
I believe that we must fight to defend our personal rights. NO ONE has the right to tell me I must be injected with something, against my will.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”- Edmund Burke
That is why current OB/GYN’s test ALL pregnant mom’s for STD’s. In most cases they know their status before they give birth. Sure, if there is good reason, go ahead. There is not a good reason for most babies.
Tests yield false negatives. Women can contract it late in pregnancy too. I agree that it’s making a big deal out of what was likely a small number but hospitals are the ones held liable for something going wrong with a baby, or the doctors, so keep that in mind. It takes one person who sees a malpractice lawsuit to the doctor as a solution to their lost kid. The hospitals and Doctors don’t want the malpractice issues, so they go to great lengths with their precautions.
“No critical thinker, no honest person would ever sign off on the sight-unseen vaccine schedule of the future. And yet thats what youre doing when you condemn the people who are fighting for your right to refuse. Today, you have the right to refuse, should you ever choose to use it, because the very anti-vaccine people you demonize have been fighting for us all.
Right now, the burden of herd immunity a false epidemiological construct designed to justify vaccine mandates falls on small children, but that is changing. Vaccine manufacturers see an untapped market in adult vaccines and are coming for you next.
What will you do if your state, your employer, or your insurance company forces you to get a vaccine that you simply dont want? Perhaps it hasnt happened to you yet, but if the right to refuse is eliminated, it will and faster than you might think. Who then will you turn to?
Our representatives who are besieged by lobbyists and get campaign donations from pharmaceutical companies?
The CDC that has a revolving door with Pharma?
Your doctors who fear being brought up on disciplinary charges and losing their licenses to practice?
Mainstream media, which panders to industry and insists on politicizing a non-partisan issue? (U.S. is ranked #46 in the World Press Freedom Index 2014 behind Romania, Papua New Guinea, Slovenia, South Africa, Botswana, El Salvador, Latvia, Trinidad & Tobago, and Suriname among others. Haiti is #47.)
Who will you turn to if you ever want to say no?
There will be no one.”

“The increase in autism and other serious vaccine injuries....”
When are you going to publish your study showing that vaccines cause autism and claim your Nobel prize for figuring out something that all the doctors and scientists missed?
I believe that they count combination vaccinations for each of the diseases. Thus, the MMR would be three vaccines.
